Pretty decent that, if true. Very attacking -- we're at home, after all, why not? If Assaidi starts, might be worth a punt on scoring a goal. Wigan have some hefty midfield players so Allen will need to be stronger on the ball than in the past few games. If he passes as quickly and accurately as he can, we should be okay. Suso and Gerrard will have to help him out though. I find it annoying when I see Allen get on the ball but no one moves to become available for the pass. That's when the ball is usually moved sideways or backwards.
Good team if it's true, I would have liked to see Enrique get a start after his MOTM performance against Chelsea last week, think he deserves to start.
I agree, Sahin is dropped? Not that surprised as he hasn't played well in his last couple of appearances. Although I thought this would be a perfect time for him to gain some confidence. People forget that he is one of the few players we have that has experience in winning titles.
enrique's problem is his poor use of the ball and losing possession too often. Great defender imo but I think BR views the retention etc as just as important and that is why he is not first choice. if it was up to me then I would still play him rather than swapping others and playing wisdom at right back, it just makes sense and nothing to do with my FF team.
Enrique's control is quite good but where I feel he doesn't suit BR's tactics is that he tends to like to run at players and then whip the ball into the box. We're not really playing that way anymore. Like Downing, he's more suited to when we used Carroll. Also, he does have a tendency, like Gerrard and Adam (previously), to look for the hollywood, over-the-top long ball. He's played a few decent balls like that this season, but, as he isn't our captain, BR will show less leniency towards him. BR appears to prefer that the player hold the ball and find the right pass, rather than lose the ball with a risky dribble or speculative (risky) pass.
Yeah the rumoured team is Reina, Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Allen, Gerrard, Suso, Assaidi, Suarez, Sterling Thats the team I said id like to see yesterday,BR must be listening to me
Exciting team if true, bit disappointed Enrique isn't starting but Wisdom and Johnson haven't done much wrong so far, I fancy a win today to properly kick start our season.
Reina, wisdom, agger, skrtel, Johnson, Allen, Gerrard, Enrique, suso, Suarez, sterling. No assaidi even on the bench. Odd. Sent from my Windows Phone 8X by HTC using Board Express
It's on the LFC site. Noy sure what to think of that team. Can't be 4-3-3 unless Enrique is being used as a CM or the left wide forward? Can only think that with Wigan likely to play 3-5-2 we are looking to match them with Johnson/Enrique as wing backs, Allen,Gerrard/Suso in middle with Sterling & Suarez a front 2.
Cheers, IBWT, I found it, eventually. Think it'll be: Reina Wisdom Skrtel Agger Sterling Allen Enrique Gerrard Suso Suarez Sterling and Enrique as wingbacks.
