Sauber have been bigging themselves up saying they should be much more competitive than Singapore... Although a podium would be a big ask, 2 cars in the Top 8 is more realistic.

I'd find it amusing if Perez were to finish ahead of the McLarens.

Perez: "Ferrari wanted me for 2014"

please log in to view this image

Perez says he had a chat with Domenicali at Monza and was told that Ferrari wanted him for 2014. He goes on to say that "they were really interested in me".

    It makes you wonder:

    • If Ferrari were "really interested" in signing him in the future, why did he turn his back on the team?
    • Did he think Button would be much easier to beat than Alonso?
    • Why didn't Ferrari do more to keep Perez in the Ferrari driver academy?
    • Knowing McLaren wanted him (as it was reported in the press), why didn't Ferrari take a risk and sign him for 2013?
    • Was Perez a contingency plan for 2014 in case performance clauses were not met in Vettel's pre-contract?
    • Or was it Vettel's pre-contract that was the contingency plan?
    • Does the the Vettel pre-contract even exist?

If you were given the choice between driving for a top team that would screw you over every time for your team-mate, or driving for a top team that would give you equal billing what would you choose?

You forgot the important question that some have to take into account as well - which one pays more?

tbh I don't think it really comes into the equation for most drivers, winning and doing well is mre important, and of course doing those 2 things will also bring the cash on sponsorship, merchandising etc. I think most drivers would race for McLaren for free rather than get paid £100m to drive for STR

I think it was odd for Ferrari to expect him to wait while an equally good offer was available to him for next season.

Wow, Silver, you've surpassed yourself, turning a post about Pérez into yet another 'all about Seb'. Well done!

I'd find it more amusing if Kobay out scores him (perez) by 8 points.

At first I thought it was a decent signing... now I'm unsure.

Makes me wonder if they signed him too quickly so as to not look foolish knowing Hamilton was moving on.
