Graham looks to be in the Dobbie situation under Rodgers last season, and unless he start banging them in off the bench, he could well be in trouble, though long term not sure if Laudrup sees him in his plans anyway. Good posts again Ivor!..............<ok>

Danny is not a striker, I said it last season and im saying it this season. He is an attacking midfielder and works very hard for the team but his finishing is crap.....I said he would not start many games this season if we get a more consistent finisher and that has been proven right....Sir Mike wont tolerate a striker that cant score no matter how much he runs about....I think he should seriously consider changing positions to an attacking midfielder as he has a boss who was the best ever at that position and leave the strikers roll to a better finisher when we get him in january. either that or its bye bye danny....

I stand to be corrected but I think Michu hasn't scored in four since he moved up front on his own. It's a lot harder to do that job than many people think - as Michu is finding out. Much easier to get goals as an attacking midfielder when you are more difficult to pick up.

There are good premiership strikers and there are good championship strikers... Danny is the latter but not good enough as a premiership striker as Sir mike has found out and i said last season...He is a good worker but im afraid that is not what we need....who wants a striker who cant finish at the rate he does, he's just not consistent enough for what we need im afraid. I cant see him ever being a consistent scorer he has too many barren games and sir mike wont put up with that for one minute as he has found out..... coming off the bench in place of a midfield player is about all he will get if he dont improve and i would prefer him as a midfielder anyway....

Most people agree that 12 league and 2 cup goals was pretty consistent for a debut (team and player) season AND you can add a non stop work rate to that, which no doubt helped to prevent a few goals.

We've altered our style this year and Danny is taking time to adapt to it as well as with several new team mates. He may or may not be Laudrup's idea of a striker in any event but who are we going to get for sensible money to replace him? Proven, consistent goal scorers at this level cost far more than we can afford and, if we go bargain shopping abroad, who can guarantee that whoever we buy will hit the ground running and start scoring consistently?

If there is someone, you can bet your arse they will already have been targeted by clubs who can outbid us.

unfortunately i have promised my wife i would only go to 3 away games a season and thats what i did last season and thats what ill do this season. I could not make my mind up whether to go to the toon or liverpool this season so i tossed a coin and liverpool won it....St James's is a fantastic ground to go to and i would love to be there but as i have already budgeted for liverpool, Arsenal and Man utd then my wife would flip her lid if i went to newcastle as well....I had a lift too as my bro and nephew are going...<wah>

You could always try what a mate of mine done a couple of years back.
He phoned his mrs to tell her he'd made plans to go to Blackpool with the boys. She asked when the trip was, to which he replied... "we're in Strensham on the way up now" <laugh>
Just worry about the consequences when you get home <cheers>

He was brave SA, I only mentioned that I was taking my boy to Southampton last week and I get was "I wanted to go shopping" (It was her birthday Monday) after 15mins of argument a compromise was reached, took the day off on Monday to please her.

Mind you Dilli's brave, we meet up at the Southampton game last week and he told me it was his misses birthday that day. God if, I'd have done that my balls would have been chopped off, or certainly no chance of any action in the bed room for months.

I can't make the toon game unfortunately as funds are limited what with a house to buy. I have set my mind on doing 4 away days though, Liverpool being the one. Can't decide on the other three.

Ash, Fulhams a good one friendly fans and not too far. West Brom not to far and Wigan because there'll be plenty of tickets and because it's not far from Blackpool if you want to make a weekend of it

No I'll be there as always but have to say Newcastle is probably my least favourite trip. It's not so much because of the long journey but when you do eventually get there you have a mountain of steps to climb before being perched at the very highest point where the players are no more than an inch tall from our vantage point. Add to that the fact that any singing which eminates from the away end goes upwards and out of the stadium whilst the home fans can certainly make it an intimidating place for the opposition. We did keep them quiet last season with a rather fortunatel draw so let's hope for a similar result tomorrow.
