Sometimes it needs pointing out though iuse to work with a few dull fans and a couple of rovers fans and they hate city to the point they all support other teams leeds/liverpool .they didnt like it when we went to wembley and won they was moaning about the tv coverage we was going to get and they had a party when we went down. But not one of them ever went to game of rugby or football and still claimed to be die hards rugby fans because they went 30 years ago lol
They average about 13,500 last season. The prices are much lower too, even pay-on-the-day is only ã15 for adults and ã8 for concessions.
i know about 20000 hull fc fans who were at the boulevard in the 70s when there was 900 there against huyton.
Was out Shopping yesterday afternoon and saw at least 6 people wearing Hull Fc Shirts while there was a home game in play, less than a mile away (B&Q, Asda and Toys r us) and live on Sky.
Only for the Cup game against Oldham though. Normally on a match day it's something like ã24 for adults, ã16 for students and ã12 for juniors. (Just rough figures though)
That's this one. A few years back they made the playoffs and were due to play at home at tea time on the same day we had Ipswich at home. We shifted our game to lunch time so that they'd keep home advantage, and then we were getting abuse in the pub at tea time from fat bastards in their FC shirts because we wanted to watch the end of the tea time football game before putting their game on because we should be following the local team not watching Man U vs whoever it was (given they'd been slagging us for the previous hour I thought that was taking the piss). Biggest cheer of the night came when the Man U game finished, they turned over and we all saw FC were losing in front of a far from full stadium.
To be fair to the egg chasers 11,900 thats a good crowd for a crappy regional game like that. I would'nt go and see it if they played across the street from me and it was free to get in.
The other thing that we should notice though was that the atmosphere sounded pretty good. We might get more people but we do not seem to be able to make more noise at the KC.
This season the crowds have dropped but the atmosphere has improved. The difference between the 2 clubs is that at FC all of the East, all of the South and some of the West stand sing, especially Old Faithful, whereas at football (I've been in all 3 stands this season), you get stared at in the West if you sing, no one in the South sings and there are only 4 or 5 blocks in the East Stand that sing, meaning the atmosphere is very flat!
My interest has gone from it as well. I used to go to Rovers as a kid and got into the rivalry. When there was the merger with Gateshead that local rivalry just disappeared for me, it didn't feel like Hull FC any more, and without your rivals there's not much point in any of it. I still like to see Rovers doing well, but it's nothing like as much as it used to be when we were in D2 trying to get into D1 to play against FC again. No doubt I'll have FC fans saying I'm using the merger as a way of having a pop, but that's just how it feels. It's why I can't understand why when someone like Leeds goes into admin you get people hoping they go bust because they hate them. If they did go bust we lose our only real (current) competition for the best team in Yorkshire. I just don't see where the enjoyment is in victory if you've nobody to brag about it to and rub their faces in it. (which is an acceptable thing to do so long as you take the same back when they beat you)
