Really? He's had next to no effect then, even if he single handedly won them all 3 games then I would only consider it worthy of 9 points off, maximum.

This is a right royal balls-up by the FA.

I think with this being a retrospective punishment, it's got to be a very steep fine for QPR. Somewhere in the region of £10m should do it. The alleged offence was in 2009 so how they can justify punishing the 2010/11 season squad seems a bit harsh to me. QPR should not have to take a point deduction as West Ham didn't over the Carlos Tevez saga. West Ham had to pay Sheffield United,(managed by Warnock at the time), a cool £20,000,000 in compensation... ouch! but importantly, West Ham were NOT deducted points.

I must have missed what their fans said about the North East teams... anything interesting?

Cutting a long story short... no.
Basically bitter QPR fan hates North East teams and said they'd 'do us in' when they came up.

I think it's difficult - although the offence happened in 2009 these things can take time to surface. You can't always find out and get to the bottom of things close to when the offence occured. If they are found guilty I'd dock them whatever points it says in the rule. People can't use the excuse that it's the fans that suffer - if the club has breached the rules then that's that. I would say that punishing a team who has been promoted with a £10m fine isn't a punishment as they're still £30m up. Not really getting punished. Is it fair on all the teams below who played by the rules? If that is the 'punishment' why don't other teams do a few dodgy deals, get promoted, get £40m TV money and a £10m fine. £30m profit.

As these new rules are now in force they have to be used. That's the only way others will observe them.

You can't deduct points from them like this, because if he hadn't have scored, Wednesday wouldn't have been relegated, and someone else would, so you'd have to take all their results away, and change results in League 1 this season etcetc.

West Ham United have really got away with one then - they didn't get points deducted but paid Sheffield United £20m and another £5.5m to the Premier League for breaking the rules. I'm not sure of the details with Luton Town's deduction? Anybody know what happened there?

They seem to have a lot of pressure to follow this point deduction through..It's like when people wanted Tash banned, the mods where under a lot of pressure to get it done, so they did it for a few days which calmed the masses. It's natural. And of course the FA have to atleast make themselves look somewhat decent at there jobs.
