Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of Nigel's second spell at Leicester City after he returned from his loan at Hull.

How do we all rate his performance? Have we improved on and off the pitch?

I'd say that we have improved immensely and we're now churning out performances, maybe not results, every week. We know that, while it's a phrase you could attribute to every team in the league, we really can beat anyone, anywhere.

Looking back at the start of this season you have to wonder how much better off we'd be if performances had been turned into results.

Blackburn away instantly springs to mind. One of the preseason favorites for promotion and we went there and totally dominated yet still left empty handed, partly down to referees who Nigel has taken a real dislike to.

Refereeing has, in my eyes, cost us dearly this season.

Forest at home, Blackburn away, Palace at home and Bolton away.

In each game we had stupid decisions go our way.

Forest- The referee somehow gave a penalty away after Whitbread made his only well timed tackle of the match.
Blackburn- Disallowed goal for us and they scored a goal with someone in an offside position blocking Kasper's view.
Palace- A defender handled the ball on the line to stop us scoring.
Bolton- Stone wall penalty shout denied.

Overall i'm really happy with Nigel's second spell. I'm excited to see where he'll go with us.

I know every team has complaints about refereeing but, this and last season, we most of been robbed of about 20 points by refs. I can only really thing of one to two bad decisions in our favour (Bamba fouling a player against Southampton as he scored over a year ago was the only one that springs to mind). It's really bad and I can certainly see why Pearson exploded on Sat.

As for Pearson, he's doing the great job I knew he would. Signings like Marshall and Knockaert are already cult figures, De Laet and Vardy show a lot of promise, while we all know what a good player Morgan is. It's not perfect, I think we've banked too heavily on Vardy doing a job this season and there's not much depth at the back, but it's a massive improvement on this time last year. One thing is for sure, the games have mostly been very entertaining and it shows that the tactics he employed at Hull were down to lack of resources rather than his own management style.

<laugh> The only person who bangs on about Hull fans getting over Pearson is I-used-to-be-john-fallen, as he desperately tries to convince himself that we're still upset he left.

We don't give a ****, we moved on a year ago, it's really time for you to catch up, you're starting to look a bit desperate.

Thanks for visiting our forum but, as pointed out, Pearson left you a full year ago now, so it's time to move on and stop visiting us now. Best of luck. <ok>

If you posted as much on here as you do on other boards then you'd have a lot more posts than you do already <ok>

Have to agree with everything that's been said regarding Pearson. Was very happy he returned, and definitely feel he is the man to get us up. He is building a team, not just a squad of talented individuals. Yes we are a bit short at the back and up top, but he knows this and has already brought in Keane and Lingaard to help with the problem.

His signings have been fantastic, but we have to thank Shakey and Walsh for that too. But yeh, overall, very happy with how things are going on and off the football pitch.

OLM, this is a multi-club FOOTBALL forum. I would say 90% of your posts are either trying to start an argument out of nothing, commenting on Prouds spelling, or calling someone else stupid. I genuinely can't remember the last time you actually contributed to one of our threads in a positive way...

It was Wednesday - "Bolton don't need more players, they just need the ones they've got to start performing, they should be one of the best teams in the league already." Hardly Shakespearian, but it wasn't a pop at anyone either.

Fact is, if people post stuff like "How time flies when your having fun....just another 19 years and the hull fans will be over it.", then I'm going to respond. If things like that weren't posted I wouldn't have anything to respond to. It's no good casting your rod into the water, then bitching when you get a bite, if you don't want to catch anything, stop fishing. <ok>

Optimistic that Pearson can put a championship winning side together given time that will not break the bank.

The thing i personally think complements Nigel is although we have quite rich owners, he will build a squad based on ability rather than profile, a young (Marshall, De Laet, Drinkwater, James) affordable squad with the drive to get to the prem with a few experienced heads thrown in (Wes, Nugent, Konchesky).
Yet Nigel knows if there is a player that has great ability with a slightly higher price tag (Knockeart was rumored to be a big undisclosed fee), he will have the backing to buy them without question.

Pearson has done well at clubs that are struggling financially, and questions were asked about whether he could handle a larger transfer budget, but as yet, i haven't seen a bad player bought in since his return.

I think it says it all that you managed to point out one post two days ago. But good for you, at least you found one!

It's not this post that I was commenting on, that's fair enough that you want to reply to something directed at you/Hull. It's just all the others... We were having a nice chat with Bristol about loaning them Neil Danns. Proud correctly pointed out that he may have picked Bristol as we may have only given him an option of a bottom 4 club, as we did with Wellens, which we all know to be true. But you felt the need to pipe up on a thread which has nothing to do with you, and no mention of Hull, to tell Proud that he posts "rubbish".

Not only did you contribute nothing to the football discussion going on, you were wrong. Two for two, congratulations!

Apart from the posts on this thread, I had to back through four pages of posts to find one on your board, it's been very quiet on here this week.

My point to Proud was that you could loan a player to a bottom four club and they could be in the top half by the end of the month, equally, you loan to a top ten club who could be bottom four by the end of the month. I'm sure you'll be avoiding loans to clubs challenging at the top, but it's all a bit arbitrary, there's no guarantee that the loaning club will stay where they are, in fact, it's almost guaranteed that they won't.

Nigel has rebuilt the club since coming here. What Sven built was like a house of cards, as soon as 1 thing went wrong then whole thing was going to collapse. Nigel has got alot of overpaid, over rated crap off our books and managed to save alot of money in wages. On the pitch he has built us a team and installed discipline and togetherness which is something we have lacked since Nigel left first time around. It taken time for the results and the consistency to come but its now starting to come

I have been in Filey 9 yrs now after moving from Syston in that time iv'e been KC twice. City lost the year Hull were prom. to the Premier I went on the supporters bus and was made welcome( they knew I was a city fan) and no Scarborough Tiger I didnt wear my City shirt. also been to a draw. I have got to know Hull ticket holders who I now consider friends. My point is they were disapointed Pearson left but that was all. Things move on so can we now stop the PERSONAL slagging and get some constructive comments.

Agreed. No animosity to Hull fans from me here, many of my family have been Hull City fans (although more Rugby League) and both our clubs are happy with the position we're in, and the managers we currently have. Let's all share the love <hug>

    Well said Filey Fox

I thought Nigel Pearson and Staff did a great Job turning things around at Hull City and was sad when he walked away as where many others ...

Mind you my surgeon Mr Perry told me a number of times that Nigel Pearson WOULD go back to Leicester City some time and we only had him on loan , thought he was just winding me up but I had to admit to him he was right ..

Time moves on and I am 100% behind Steve Bruce as are most City fans I know. I am well pleased we have Steve Bruce ...

In my opinion both Leicester City and Hull City have got Good Managers and we will Both go up sooner or later.

Course no one on the Bus would say anything bad to you Filey Fox , can't say the same thing IF a Leeds fan sat next to me but we all hate Leeds !!
