Of course there is a good chance you will be right with this guess. if we fail to beat Southampton then I think Harry may be asked about the job next week

I've only just joined the thread. If I had done so earlier I would have posted something similar to this. But not as good.

I'm with SB on this one.

As a motivator and an impact manager it will probably work and the confidence that brings will probably get more out of the players in the short-term (but so would a win on Saturday).

Hughes, despite the obvious mistakes on the pitch, does have a thoroughness in his preparation (as evidenced by more than one player stating that they didn't play to the plan and the pre-warned consequences happened). Harry does not have that attention to detail.

Redknapp has a scatter gun approach to transfers which makes Hughes seem shrewd by comparison - his days at West Ham in particular will show this to be true (Marco Boogers was worse than Green as a purchase).

His dealings at Portsmouth are largely responsible for their current plight - old players on over-inflated contracts that wouldn't leave because they were onto a good thing.

His Spurs reign was largely punctuated with very obvious talent being left to rot on the bench - Pienaar, Kranjaer, Bent, Berbatov etc.

He's also never struck me as having a supreme grasp on the big picture and so anything around the edges of the first team will slowly atrophy.

Lastly, despite his man management prowess, he's the man that couldn't make anything of Taarabt. Warnock got him playing (usually) and Hughes has got him working. That's since Harry shipped him for approximately £1M.

I feel that, if it happens and the same critical analysis is applied to him (tactics, selections and transfers) as to our current manager by our passionate fans, we would be calling for a new man in under a year.

And if doesn't rain, don't blame me as 'these things happen' <laugh>
Funny there is is a poster on Fantasy Island who posted something similar at 7,30. Could it be the same poster?

It could be the truth because TF is not the majority owner, he owns 1/3rd of the 2/3rd of QPR with 2 other people and Mittal/Bhatia own the other 1/3rd. So it would only take Mittal/Bhatia and 1 other owner to have a majority decision.

I totally disagree with the majority of this post. First about Hughes preparation and plans. He over feeds too much information which actually hinders a footballer playing football! Tlink about being a player and the ball is coming to you, do you use your initiative and do what you think is right or remember what Hughes told you to do, too late you've been tackled!! Same off the ball, the player im marking has drifted into a position im not instructed to go in etc etc. Its pathetic planning and preparation and mark my words, players will say so when he's gone!!
As for harry financially crippling teams with wages and fees, its the same when O'leary was at Leeds, if the board give you money, you spend it, its like getting pocket money as a kid, you can only spend what you're given!!
As for Adel, he was 19 fighting for a place against bale, lennon , modric and van Der vart erm ........what would you have done.
The others you mentioned bent, piennar etc, they were building a squad to compete at the top.of the league and is the exact opposite of what Hughes has done, we have no strength in depth!
Just think about it Matt as i believe others makes sense.

I would keep Sparky over Harry any day...for the good of the club.

Harry is old, he is ill, he makes poor financial decisions, he makes poor tactical decisions. He has history with our best/most creative player....he has history with our best CB (and real captain).....He is one lucky dog away from being locked up. He destroyed Pompey within an inch of their existance. He destroyed Spurs chance of Champions League when (he thought) England came calling

Get a grip lads....(anyone but Harry)...and that includes Sparky!!!

Well I've never heard of a club keeping there manager after they had agreed a deal with someone else, normally a caretaker comes in for the interim.

For me a clear decision one way or another is what i'm looking for. If the change is made it's a good time to do it else, come out and say MH is staying until the end of the season, leaving the club hanging on isn't good for anyone and much later will just be too late for to turn it around.
