At the time I could see the thought behind VdV being replaced, but not just sold, to let a class player just walk out the door seems ludicrous, but i don't know how much his personal situation was behind the move, hugely disappointing for us anyhow.

If, as assumed, we play 4231 in this game, there's something to consider.

    ***WARNING: TACTICS***

We know that formation works with Sandro and Dembele
We know that formation doesn't work with Sandro and Livermore, or Sandro and Huddlestone
So, the question I'm thinking is this: Will it work with Sandro and Carroll?

I'm not sure I like all this openess about who's in or out before a game, it gives the other team a chance to prepare, I've noticed a stark difference to Harry's more veiled approach.

I'm not too worried as I think most of it's bullshit, anyway. How many times do you hear that so and so won't be fit, and then, bingo! On match day he's suddenly made a miraculous recovery.

I'd snap their hands off for a draw right now.

I'm not 100% on all of our injuries but as I understand it; Dembele, Kaboul, Parker and Benny are out and Defoe, Lennon and Walker are doubtful, is that right?

AVB has said "Lennon had a scan but he's OK"

BAE was last seen riding his bike through the mountains and forests. LOLOLOL'ing to the tune of Saturday Night Fever.

Harry's veiled approach was to play the same group of players in every game, occasionally out of position, often due to loaning out everyone else.

Andre Villas-Boas says Tottenham have to finish above Arsenal

Andre Villas-Boas believes Tottenham "have to" finish above Arsenal this season to get fourth spot.

The last time Spurs finished above the Gunners was in 1995 - before manager Arsene Wenger took charge.

Asked ahead of the north London derby this Saturday if that was a realistic target this season, Villas-Boas said: "We have to.

"By what I see, it's obvious that Man United, Man City and Chelsea are into a big running towards the title."

He added: "To play for that fourth spot, I think you know it's difficult bearing in mind the amount of competition you have to beat."

Tottenham are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table and a point ahead of the Gunners after 11 games. Spurs are seven points behind third-placed Chelsea and 10 behind leaders Manchester United.

Last season Arsenal finished third and Tottenham fourth, but Spurs did not qualify for the Champions League due to Chelsea's victory in the Champions League.

Yet former Chelsea boss Villas-Boas, who takes charge of his first north London derby, believes Tottenham are getting closer to Arsenal.

"Recently, they have obtained more Champions League qualifications, so our objectives for the season have been within their reach for the last couple of years.

"We are certainly getting nearer in terms of what we are doing for the club, but the past shows that at the moment they are regular in obtaining those sorts of objectives."

Villas Boas also confirmed Belgian playmaker Mousa Dembele remains ruled out with a hip injury, after it had been hoped he would return.

Dembele, 25, who scored on his debut for Spurs in the 1-1 draw against Norwich, has missed the club's last eight games.

Villas-Boas said: "Dembele does not have a chance, not for this game. There is a 50% chance he will be back for the Lazio game."

With all our injury problems, inability to score and inability to keep a clean sheet, I really can't see anyway in which we're gonna anything from this game.

    Sad times.

And Walcott - I can't see our right midfielder in Lennon doing what he did.

We're lucky if Lennon decides to shoot at all at the moment.

I think his goals are a case of 'one eventually has to go in', in general his accuracy is pretty poor, and I think he knows it, so I'm not going to knock him for that, I'd rather he gave it to someone else! I do struggle to think of another similar attacker thats so shotshy though.
