My anti-**** filter removes all that stuff. I thought we were talking about Keane, Gerrard and England. My bad for staying remotely on-topic.
Will I appear too much much of a pedant if I point out that the Amazon warriors had nothing to do with the Amazon? Ah, **** it. Amazon warriors had nothing to do with the Amazon.
Well, today does appear to be Pedant's Day Tho' you would be less pedantic as you would be wrong. The Amazon river was named because the explorers who found it thought the local warriors resembled the mythological warriors. So technically the Amazon is named after the Amazons, even if the actual Amazons lived nowhere near it (if they actually lived at all)
Who truly gives a **** what a has-been no-mark has been like Keane says? Who truly gives a **** what the Mancs think? Gerrard has won 100 England caps. Even if he was a poor a professional as the above ****es may like to suggest, it only proves that he was better than any other England player. As for the what ifs then just how great may his England career have been if he had been surrounded by only a modicum of England team-mates who had as much skill?
The local females fought alongside their men as warriors, so the invading Spaniards likened them to the Amazons of Greek myth. I very much doubt that South American natives bore much of a resemblance to warriors of classical mythology, and certainly not to a clutch of bikini clad "babes".
Not the point! His 100 caps were for England so it's his England performances that are open to scrutiny. Hence, if a variety of England managers have selected him 100 times then he must have demonstrated more skill than the competition of English midfield players. So, if he's poor then the competition has to be useless.
Didn't watch the match so didn't see the comment but it does seen typically twatish of Keane, who just isn't a nice bloke. Very churlish and unnecessary. You're a bit cantankerous tonight though Dave, will the term has been be allowed to be applied to Gerrard himself once he stops playing? On that basis all ex players are has beens whose opinion is irrelevant. Also, blaming the players around him for his non performances in an England shirt could be applied as an excuse for loads of players. It's not the real reason. *edit based on Hash below, he appears to not be a nice bloke. Bloody legendary player though.
Here's where I stand , as someone who actually knows the man and his family. He's not a pikey/knacker He's ex Irish/United captain what the **** do ye expect him to say about the English/Liverpool captain He seems to be taking a leaf out of his Biographer and fellow pundit Eamon Dunphy's book with the ''not great , good'' line Despite Roy captaining the scum , he's actually a nice geniune fella who doesn't wear fools easily P.s. Next **** to diss Cork is getting his account banned Don't test me .... ever wonder why UIR is now UIR MkII
