I like the fact that if Bruce doesn't like the players he brought in then he doesn't feel obligated to play them, I don't think we would be doing quite so well this season if he hadn't bit the bullet and dropped Proschwitz for example. If he doesn't rate Jakupovic then why should he play him just because Amos made a few mistakes, the chances are Amos is a much better keeper regardless.

This kid looks the real deal though. He's not for the future, he's for now. Oxley I doubt we will ever see make a first team appearance in the league. We have Jakupovic and if Ryan comes in during the January window, that's four keepers we will have. He'll probably be sold to Burton I imagine, sounds like he's impressing down there. (In Burton I mean, not a reference to his penis.)

According to Phil Buckingham, Bruce is planning to watch the Burton Albion-Altrincham FA Cup game as Oxley is highly-rated

Nope. I said at the time that Nick signed a pre contract with Jankupovic but we actually got out of it. However we ended up desperately short and getting close to the start of the season, Gary Walsh recommended him, Bruce took the plunge and hasnt liked what he has seen.

And none of those players started in the A-League. And I watch the A-League and as I said very very few players from the A-League can cope in england. Thats not to say none of them can but I wouldn't get my hopes up again like I said

    You are forgiven.

You may not get excited about the prospect but we might. Our goal keeping situation is ideal to none of us. The prospect of someone who has genuine promise might be something that we would get excited about. The fact he plays in a **** league might not be a huge issue as he is 1. a keeper, and 2. He is only 20 years old.

You beat me to it! Have never seen an A- League match or for that matter an A- NSL match which preceded the A- League from 1977-2004. Schwarzer, Cahill, Viduka,Kewell, Mcdonald and Emerton all came from this now defunct League. In the late 70's,however, my husband helped with the coaching of the Sydney Olympic NSL youth team.

Latest statement from the Chairman of the Central Coast Mariners(CCM) Peter Turnbull. Quote:

"Hull have tabled an offer for Mat but negotiations are still at an early stage. However, we will continue to talk with them and several other clubs from Europe over the coming weeks in order to arrive at the best possible outcome for CCM and Mathew."

So OLM is correct. They all came from Australia's top division. Same difference.

Everyone keeps banging on about Kewell but he didn't come from the a-league, he came from Leeds' youth team and just happens to be Australian.

    edit, or the a-nls

Did you miss off a certain Aussie striker/winger called Garcia who helped an East Yorkshire team to the PL?

I didn't mention Garcia(Richard, not Andy or Luis), as I knew he'd gone through the West Ham academy and hadn't played in the A-League until this year.

I wasn't aware that the same was true of Harry Kewell.
