Might be the kick up the arse that he needs to progress his career.

Mr Di Canio will certainly give him that if he falls short or does not put 100% in.

It is all pointing to another striker coming in soon if not in the January window. We are now down to three and surely nobody would imagine that will be enough. Look what happened to Kane within a couple of games.

I'm quietly confident that CH realises we need a replacement for CM - let's hope he can pull another 'rabbit out of the hat' and get another Cisse or similar from abroad!! :emoticon-0100-smile

I reckon that there are a lot of scouts looking in the Ivory coast phone book for the surname Cisse as it seems that there are any number of decent strikers with that name (unless it is the Ivorian equivalent of Smith). I would be happy to see us get a decent forward in January as I dread to think what would happen if anything happened to Holty.

Glad to see the back of him. Hope he impresses enough for Swindon to sign him permanently in Jan.

..........i think most of us agree that he is never going to be a success in the premier with us, but i think that is a bit harsh 1950. for a while we all thought he would be the next big thing, as we did with jarvis. oh how the flattered to deceive.

well talking of slipping down the leagues, i was a little shocked to see both josh dawkin and luke daley playing for braintree in the cup midweek, although to be fair i didn't realise that braintree are now in the Conference Premier so they're not as low as i thought. shows that you can easily slip down the leagues with little experience.

Chris did well for us in League One. His two against Col U, and particularly his header against Leeds, won us valuable points, both actual ones, and psychological ones, because we needed to right some wrongs in those matches. And he clearly felt that too. Of course, he is not talented enough for the Premier League, and needs to move on, but I have never understood this anti Martin mentality. Good luck Chris.

Good luck to him! Agree with the comments about Di Canio whipping him into shape, hopefully he'll have a really good spell, and we'll have some decent offers in for him. It's slightly worrying the level where most recent academy graduates are playing at. Beyond Shackell and Green, I can't think of anyone produced in the last ten years, and of those now coming through, personally I don't see anyone other than perhaps Francomb who might make it near to the first team set-up. Hopefully the likes of Loza, etc, can change that, and fingers crossed the new status helps.
