Gasheads Below I have a few questions for you all and I need your honest answers. No lies and no sitting on the fence. Please give your personal and honest view on the questions set. This is regarding me being the moderator of our board. Basically my modship of this board has been brought into question and I would like to give you all the opportunity to give me your thoughts and feelings on this as you are the ones that actually matter as this is OUR board for gasheads. No one else matters from other teams boards. Also to point out that these questions goes to new members and the members who been here from the start. Its for every gashead on this board. I will give you an overview of things like the background what our board use to be like and changes made and issues that have arisen. Then you have the full details to hand to answer the questions at the bottom. Some background: The ones who been here as a member for a while would easily remember what this board was like up until the changes made recently. How this board was running, to be honest, it didnt look very appealing to any on-lookers. There was only a few of us who were really active and no thread ever stayed on topic as was either hijacked by reds or we ourselves ruined it with our banter. I believe this cost us new members and lost some existing members as well. I was posting wums/banter on the city board but I was also contructive and respectful when I was not wumming on their board. In doing so, I made some good friend from both boards. Earlier this year I left this site due to losing my brother to cancer and I needed time away. I actually left not planning to come back. I gave up my modship duties when I left this site. I sent my request to remove my mod duties to the guys in charge as explained I was leaving. At the time 'Gas' was my fellow mod who was away on holiday which meant I was leaving the board with no moderator. I didnt think the guys in charge would just appoint a new mod to replace me without imput from 'Gas' so I recommended to the guys in charge to get the reds mod 'wizered' to take over our board until 'Gas' came back so he can select a new mod to work with him. This showed I trusted wizered completely as I really did get on with him. I then left the site to which I thought would be my last time being here. However several months passed and I felt better within myself to return which is when I found out that I was still moderator as the guys in charge said they would leave me mod in case I decided to come back. On my return 'Gas' was no longer mod and pirate49 had taken his place. There was a message from pirate49 saying he was happy to be my number 2. I returned to this site as a different person. For example: Not once since my return have I posted on the city board and gave any banter/wums about citys season to date. It was rare for me to post on the city board full stop. But when I did, it was nothing but respect that I was showing. I left the banter to our board whenever I felt like joining in as my head wasnt and still isnt in a right place. Recently I found out how many members we actually had and out of those members how many were actually active. I then put this to the board and asked for ideas how we can change things to get more people on the site and active. With the feedback I had received, changes had to be made. The 'welcome thread' obviously shows the changes and I asked if you all were happy with it and I received your blessing. Since these changes we have had a lot more join us and been active, we have had a few existing members return as well. Our board has been much more busier. We are growing! The issue: Due to the changes we made to this board, this has had a knock on effect to any guests from other boards on rules that has been set for them. Basically this board is for gasheads. Open forum this is but guests from other boards are just that - guests. If a board has set rules for guests then guests needs to follow the rules. I received praise from the city mod 'wizered' for these changes and he stated he supported the changes. I popped over to the city board and noticed changes made their end as well and I gave good praise back to 'wizered'. I had opened up to 'wizered' on things and he has in return to me. Things were going well and relationships getting stronger. I even got bbc radio bristol to promote not606 not just for gasheads but also for city fans helping them which I was thanked for. Unfortunately, a few 'guests' from the red side decided to test the rules set on our board and I was disappointed to see one of these guests be 'wizered' - the person who praised me and supported the changes that we made on our board. Obviously the rules that was put into place wasnt just a front. The rules for guests were there to stop threads getting hijacked and going off topic, basically the rules were to help us get control back to our members and have banter in its own place. The rules are clear that guests can post on ALL threads if they choose but to keep banter and wums to the banter threads. Sounds simple because it is. So where some reds were testing the rules, I had to enforce the rules and give warning after warning. I had to delete comments and close threads. After final warnings were given and ignored, next thing was to ban these individuals from our board for a day or 2 only. But I didnt want these guests banned. These are good city fans who have become my friends on here. I needed to get control back. So I asked for help from the guys in charge who gave a warning and it did. They stopped. However as a result I seen comments made by 'wizered' on city board that were abusive towards me for the actions I took. So 1 minute I get praise and support from him to the next minute hie was testing the rules and when I follow through on warnings, I get abused. Are you confused? I know I am. I honestly have no idea why the sudden change in wizered and some others. Since then seen quite a lot of false stuff being said about me along with the odd bit of abuse from a few of them on their board. I even received a private message as well that included abuse. That seems fair right? No. To date, 1 person have been banned from our board. Reason why he was banned was for threatening behaviour that he was going to cut some of us including me into pieces and was racist/facist to another member along with just tons of abuse in a pure hatred way. Its been made out on their board that it was just harmless banter. Does it sound harmless to you? You are all now up to date on things. I have done my very best to be your moderator since my return. I have spent countless hours trying to promote this site and help us grow while trying to protect our board and care for all your needs, making changes and enforcing them. The only regret I have is not doing the changes much sooner. Also along making these changes, I have shown nothing but respect to them reds on their board even when im abused. They are bottom of the league and yet me, someone who use to be 1 of the biggest wummers on their board, havent posted 1 wum/banter comment on their board this whole season. This is where this thread applies to you all. Above I have explained everything which is the honest truth. Some of you have witnessed these things for yourself. I am currently not posting or even looking on their board from now on to avoid confrontation. I am sure you may have read things their end but I can assure you it is false. Hopefully you all will have a better understanding on things. I am very sorry to be asking the following questions to you but me being moderator has come under fire by them and I would like to know what you all feel on that matter. Please be honest, if its negative towards me, I will not hold a grudge and I will respect everything that you say good or bad. Please dont feel influenced by others responses. Give your own answers. So please answer..... 1, Are you happy and still want me being a moderator on this board? YES or NO If no.... please state reasons why and who you would prefer to be mod for our board. If the majority want me removed from mod then I will go to the guys in charge to change me from being mod to whoever gets the most nominations and I will provide the reasons given so the guys in charge know why our board wants change. Again, I cant stress enough, I wont hold grudges and respect what is said in all answers given 2, Are you still happy with the changes that has been made on this board? YES or NO If no.... please state what changes that have been made that you are no longer happy with. 3, Are you still happy with the rules set for guests? YES or NO If no.... please state why and give an alturnative if you have one. (remember, the rules are allowing guests to post on every thread if they wish but to keep banter on appropriate threads). 4, Is there any changes that you want to the board? YES or NO If yes.... please state the change you want. No matter how big or small or small the change you request. 5, Is there any ideas that you have to help us grow and improve? YES or NO If yes.... please state and if im still mod at the end of this I will try and implement the ideas given. If im not still mod then whoever takes my place has things to consider for the board So thats it. Just 5 questions needing 5 answers please. Sorry for the long essay and for putting you on the spot with this. But as my modship skills been questioned, I thought it would be best to go to you all as you are the ones that really matter, and ask you if you are happy or not with me in this position as your mod. CJS, I believe this site has evolved for the better because of the new rules being inforced. I myself rarely posted b4 as threads were always loosing there direction; non sequitur drivel. If the "she teds" don't like it then they can, and probably will continue to moan, which is quite sad really as they don't seem to be able to see the bigger picture........lets run this board with a bit of dignity, welcome all guests who have the intelligence to abide by the rules and banish the dumb ****s who can't. Captain, you do a great job and basically are the catalyst for everything that happens on here. You are also the reason I came back. Not that I ever went away, but all the posts and threads just ending up losing their way, so there was no point. However, things are different now, the board is interesting again and a good laugh. Keep things going exactly as they are and if the ****heads don't like it they can **** off. I'm sure they'd say the same to us. I wouldn't worry about Wiz too much, he can be very changeable, one minute all friendly and pally, then he gets himself all wound up and ends up aggressive and abusive about the Gas. As for some chav muppet giving you a load of grief in threats and personal messages, well, that's just pathetic. A keyboard warrior acting hard. Just like our old mate 1team, on the old board, constantly giving it large, then when someone found out his identity, he ran to the mods, worrying about the safety of his wife and kids. ****'em. Keep up the good work mate.
Exactly...you're doing a fine job cjs. For so long as you've got the time, energy and interest carry on as you are.
Totally agree with all the posters above. As you know, I'm not a regular attender at games, and until recently I was not a regular poster on this board. Recent improvements, and your "recruitment drive" has motivated me, and a few others it seems, to get more involved - this is a good thing. I find this bosrd an important thing for keeping me in touch with the club that I have loved for over 40 years. As far as I can see, you are the driving force behind most of what goes on on here (and that's no disrespect intended to any of the other regulars who also do their bit). I can't see that there is any negative views to you from the blue side of the board, the only grief you are getting is form the reds, and let's face it, they really should have better things to worry about at the moment !!! I don't see that anyone on this side either wants you to step down from the work you do, let alone take it over from you. Keep it up - that's my view. AG
I've not been here 5 minute but you seem like a passionate fella who enjoys doing the job you do here and that's enough for me. It's good that you get involved in the banter, too many mods on other forums police the place with an iron fist which takes the fun out of the place To answer Q4 - My first reaction to joining the site was that, although quite welcoming in appearance, the layout of the site eventually starts to look cluttered with too many coloured stars, exclamation marks, arrows etc and the text is too light in colour in some places for the bright white background. Hurts the eyes a bit too be honest, but I'm aware that that could be a standard site setting you have no control over. I also think the font needs changing Q5 - I've always known about this site but being a member of 2 other Rovers forums I've just never bothered with it. There is only so much time you can spend on them and 3 is too many. But, with more members and thus more contributors this could be the best Rovers forum going. It is certainly the best for banter, and although I haven't wondered into anyone else's forums yet I used to do so all the time on the old Rivals site and that was good fun. The task is to convince people to spend their time on here rather than on the other forums. The virtual Gas pub is a puller I reckon. Have Quiz nights! Get that advertised on other Rovers forums, twitter and facebook and people will come and have a look and hopefully sign up

CJS, I'm back after 5 weeks out. To cut a long story short I was away due to a family crisis involving an amputation, intensive care and me having to look after my 3 boys (under 6) on my own for over a month. Combine this with business trips to Brum, London, Belfast and Paris then I have not had the time or energy to post, let alone attend games. However, I intend to get back into the swing of things from hereonin. I've tried to review the last few threads to see what's been occuring whilst I've been away and I've done the same over on the darkside. To sum up, you are a hugely valued, respected and dedicated mod who has single-handedly improved this board beyond recognition. I hope you realise that. Gasheads who post here clearly think that, and let's face it - their opinion is all that matters - not some bitter, hypocritical, flipflopping wuckfits from the redside. Oh, and ignore the rantings and abuse from you-know-who. Clearly damaged goods. But of course, there are also many from over there who are great individuals who enjoy the banter, so long may that continue too - especially if they make it eight this Saturday!! (Mmm - Ashton Gate and 8....where have I heard that before...?!) Please continue exactly the way you are as you have all our support. Up the Gas!

My only personal regret is that that resolution between all parties involved in this dispute, could not be agreed before it reached this stage. May I suggest for your consideration that when the dust has settled,should all parties involved in this dispute,wish an opportunity to revisit the issues, with the main objective being to bring about a harmonious and friendly resolution, I am more than happy to offer my services as an independant mediator. There is always someone in every successful organisation/club/society who is the dynamic centre of the activity. They do most of the work, innovate, welcome the newcomers etc. From the comments above and in my opinion Captain, you are clearly that person for this Board. I think you should and will receive whole hearted support from all of us who keep in touch with Not 606. Recently you have made two majorly important contributions; addressing rules which are keeping the threads on track and attracting new members to the site. Well done mate.
CJS, If you recall it was me that paved the way to make you our mod and it's the best thing I ever did on this forum. You do an excellent job and the Rovers board would be **** without you leading the way. Keep up the good work me 'ol mucker
