It looks bad on the fans not the club. Here in London and certainly the Midlands moreso you aren't considered a proper football fan if you say you "support" United. I know people that will not enter a football conversation with someone if they say they support United but would do if it's a fan of a rival club or team they hate.

United's fanbase in Surrey and other home counties is exaggerated IMO but not in London.

I don't consider any 1st generation United fan born and bred outside of Greater Manchester, Cheshire or Lancashire to be genuine.

DL.... On the Chelsea board why don't we just have a thread where all opposition fans can come and have a go at us and we have a go at them in return? Saves it ruining some threads and everyone can tease/have banter/take the piss out of/insult other clubs etc!

We can't give them the initiative plus they'd still post rubbish on our threads anyway. Even yesterday on a thread assessing our team, a United fan (ChristianSmith) has to pop up and bring them into the conversation.

HIAG, like me, you haven't a clue whether any lies have been told by anyone, you are simply making an assumption because it suits your purpose.
By calling for fines and sanctions you are doing exactly what you accuse our players and club of doing, making something up.
Unlike you, who has done it too smear a Club you don't like, are you seriously suggesting players and a Club would do the same???? You need your head read. Whatever the outcome, CFC will get no punishment because they have done nothing wrong.

**** me you spend so much time on the Chelsea board I actually think you get a hard on from it.

Fact is regardless of outcome the FA Rules dictate we have to inform them if a player makes a complaint. We did. Are the FA now going to take action against us for following their rules then dipshit.

I spend so much time here I have come to learn you like to mock the dead and then think you can have an opinion on things.

I would like to take a second out of my busy schedule of posting on here 24/7 to inform you that this is not the case <ok>

Can we just get something straight, Chelsea have followed the rules. A player makes a complaint, they HAVE to pass it on to the FA. That is the rule as set by the FA. Stop clutching at the vague hope this will end up ruining Chelsea. Though Clattenburg might or might not be punished, Chelsea won't feel an repercussions.

  12. CP, I promise you that that is not the case.

    I am not a "Chelsea-hater" rather I am a football lover.

You must agree that it simply cannot be in the best interests of the game that players be permitted to make up lies against the officials?

No one but the most obstinate of Chelsea fans would even begin to believe that a top-flight ref (or, indeed, any professional ref) would call a black player a "monkey." Sorry, but no reasonable, sensible and unbiased fan believes it.

If players are going to throw such serious allegations at officials, and if their clubs are going to sit back and do nothing about it, the FA must come down as hard as it possibly can, and that must mean the deduction of points.

I am not having a go at Chelsea, in particular, since I would seek the same sanction against any club that supported its players in making unfounded accusations against officials, even my own.

What an absolute crock of ****e. This kind of journalism is what really needs action taken against it. The way they have linked this whole saga to the Terry case and/or put it down to sour grapes is disgraceful. They also leaked this into the public domain which led to public statements being required instead of it being investigated in the proper manner. And the association of black lawyers have also behaved irresponsibly and can **** off.

For what it is worth I think the allegation against Clattenburg is horseshit. I think it is simply a case of two non fluent english speaking players mishearing a comment by a referee (with a very strong northern twang) to a colleague and things spiraling from there. Chelsea as a club have done nothing wrong. All they have done is acted as they are obliged to as a responsible employer and reported the claims of misconduct by three employees. Regardless of the outcome I fail to see why the club would be punished? After listening to Ray Wilkins and the inside knowledge he had of the scenario, he has indicated Chelsea actually asked Luis and Ramires to consider whether they had misheard the phrase he used, and asked Mikel if wanted to pursue the issue. Once they say they are sure they heard it and Mikel wants to pursue, Chelsea have to report it.

If as expected it results in Clattenburg being cleared I think it is simply a case of the players accepting the decision, offering full unreserved apologies to Clattenburg. Whether he then pursues a legal case against the players/media/club for defamation etc is then a matter for him. I hope not but I suspect he will in terms of the players. This should never have entered the public domain but the media were responsible for that. I think there would be more sensible further actions like contributions to the Kick it Out campaign, further English lessons for some to avoid repeats, and at worst damages being paid to Clattenburg.

The FA should have put this to bed within a week. I'm sure someone will tell me I've got the wrong end of the stick in some aspect of this, but to be honest I care little. The whole thing is a farce. At worst the players are guilty of making false accusations based on misunderstandings and/or sour grapes. Punish them clowns if that is the case and do something about some of the media who have interfered in something for the sake of a story and quick buck.

I'd be interested to have seen what the reaction would have been had it been leaked that Chelsea had failed to report it.............

Where I was born and spent the first few months of my life is a place Liverpool fans have bad memories of. Traore and a goal he scored. But for whom?
