start of 4th season this is my team: -------------Ochoa------------- Dani Carvajal----Neuton ---Munoz----Santon ----------Allen ---Shelvey------------- -----Torje-----Ramirez-----Lamela ------------Rodriguez--------- Bench: Ndy Assembe (GK), Clyne, Craig Dawson, Cork, Lallana, Mayuka, Ward-Prowse. Neuton has attracted bids from Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs. Dani Carvajal is 4.5 stars. Great find by NC.
It's so frustrating, my team are generally good at creating chances, but their finishing is so rubbish. I'll have like 10 shots but only 2 on target. While my defense keeps conceding from set pieces, I panic every time they get a corner, and often I'll be battering my opponents and then they'll score from a free kick or corner and end up winning. Grrrr. Also, what's the quickest and easiest way to get rid of players, without upsetting them as I'd feel bad about doing that?
Finished 10th in the first season with Dartford. Made the FA Cup 1st Round and the FA Trophy Final. Just left to take up the job as manager of Oxford United in League Two.
So finally bought the game, made a fair amount of changes. Got Masilela at LB 700k, Ashley Williams 4.6m, Wellington Nem 3.5m, Jores Okore 1.3m, Danny Wilson loan, Jermain Jenas loan. Sold off a lot of players too, equalling about 10m, was Hooiveld, Fonte, Chaplow, Puncheon, Dickson, Fox and Guly. Sent Ward-Prowse out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday where he is bossing for them, kept Shaw as my full back sub. As you can see replaced a lot of the championship standard players and replaced by players with a bit more class or higher potential. Things started slowly but picked up towards October. Tweaking the tactics a bit, playing a slower tempo with lots of width from the full backs and Lallana and Nem on the wings cutting in often with the overlap for crossing. Ramirez injured for 4 months though Defence is quite tight suprisingly beaten Chelsea and Arsenal but lost and drew a few games against lesser teams notably lost to a 9 man at half time Sunderland 3-1. Over all things going great looking set to finish first season about 10th-14th.
Second Season (Nov 2013) Team 4-1-2-2-1 Ochoa Clyne - Neuton - Dawson - Taylor --------Schneiderlin --------Cork - Lallana -----Ramirez - Wellington ---------Jrod/Torres No wingers, Balanced, Control. I Play narrow so lots of passes, lots of shots.
Noooo Nem out for 3 months. and Gaston still out for 2/3 months. Don't know where my goals will come from now!
LOL just got in to January transfer window, where John Utaka's agent has allerted me he availible for the princely sum of 200m. Classic.
Lambert is banging them in for fun alongside Sharp (season 3). 12 in 8 games between them . 4th place
How is lamella, and how much did he cost you? I really want to know whether to take the plunge on him.
Well he has only played a couple of games so too early to say, but he is a 4 star player with 5 star potential. Cost me a fairly hefty £22million but some of that is in future fees.
Can we get a football manager memories thread going?, i have dhad some classic saves, one in particular on Championship manager 2005 where i took FC Metz from mid table in Ligue 2, to Ligue 1 champions and 4 time european finalists.
Sorry for the double post, but my mate who used to play for the academy is in this years game playing for exeter. It's ridiculously exciting even if he's worth bugger all.
Haha, was hard to pass off considering his rich vein of form, 14 starts, no goals, no assists and an average rating of 6.37.. Bargain.
In FM 2012, I was chasing a player (cannot remember who, but it wasn't a Messi/Ronaldo type) as they were nearing the end of their contract. Their team then re-signed them, and offered to me some time later for what had been set as their release fee: if I remember correctly, it was $1.3 billion. After much thought, I declined.
