    Well,there's a surprise.

Maybe Chelsea will issue an apology and compensate Clattenburg as clearly no victim or evidence came forward there can be no case. The society of black lawyers will be so upset. What the hell did Chelsea file with the police then?

What is this game coming to. Hope Mikel really knows what an arsehole he is.

Worth noting that this is just the police that have dropped the charges, the football associations still looking into it...so expect this to carry on for awhile yet :/

Yes it is fair to say the FA are still holding a file. However, as this case is a complete embarrassment to them, it does not tick their boxes and they are completely oblivious to fairness and impartiality they will drop this case faster than you can say equality.

Horrible club. They deserve to be severely punished. Worse than Palace. Just 2 things:-

Not that I'm siding with Chelsea but this doesn't necessarily make Clattenburg innocent.

Remember Terry was found not guilty in a court of law.

Isn't that enough to make someone innocent? Being found not guilty or the prosecution being unable to offer any evidence or even a victim!!! 1000 years of English law at least demands that.

Chelsea in cry wolf shocker. Again.

I think there is an argument for them to have points deducted, seeming this isn't the first time they've done this.

The only thing that makes me even angrier than falsely playing the race card is Peter Herbert.

That guy is an A grade bell end!

I'm no fan of Clattenburg in fact I think he is a right plank! but for a Club to make accusations like Chelsea did.... they had to be very sure of their facts didn't they?

There should now be a huge grovelling apology from Chelski. At their next match Abramovic should be put in the stocks and pelted, along with his chief executive and whoever else went into Clattenberg's room and threatened him after the match.

He didn't make it up, Mikel was to by another Chelski player than Clattenberk had called him a monkey..... it seems the other player could not prove this and so the FA have dropped the case.

Sounds all too suspicious. Sounded suspicious from Romeu's comments the next day. Someone clearly fabricated the whole thing.

    And Suarez wasn't prosecuted.

But both police and FA have now thrown out all charges against Clattenburg.

Well we're not talking about the injured steward or the stuff thrown at Man Utd players any more, so job done for Chelsea. David Conn, who I usually agree with wrote an article which I think says that Chelsea were right to report the incident, which would be fair enough if they had steered clear from invading the referee's dressing room or rushed to the media at the first opportunity.

Bringing the game into disrepute. I agree with Mary. Points deduction.

I am no lover of Chelski BUT...... a Chelski player reported that racial abuse had been directed at another player so Chelski reported that to the FA which everybody agrees was the right thing to do..... now... how information on this allegation got into the media circus so quickly is another matter and should be investigated and action taken against whoever released the news too early.

Didn't Chelsea make their complaint about racist allegations public?

As Neil Warnock so wisely said, if Chelski had won the match you'd never have heard anything.
