Launch night is media, some players and companies. I am going. There will be an evening for fans too. And you are going to love it.

 

Hope Barmby and Pearson are on The Allams table!

 

As I said before, the club aren't involved in organising it, in fact they aren't even allowed to be involved. Premier Club members are just the club's big customers, so to a committe that's nothing to do with the club, they don't matter any more than anyone else. There were only 30ish tickets set aside for fans and they were allocated through the OSC.

I did wonder about how well they can be expected to get on, but everyone else seems to think they'll be fine and that Deano making a tit of himself is more of a risk.

The Testimonial team/committee/year is a separate entity to the club entirely for some reason. I'd imagine the Allams would be invited to the launch as its more a press event. Barmby is probably also invited but if their is still friction there is definitely a couple (one in particular) that Barmby will almost certainly be attending.

After the launch the details for a number of nights fans can attend will be out, they all sound pretty good in my book.

 

Dawson is God ! The free kick on his debut at the Circle. I'd never heard of him,but we were awarded a kick 25 yards out,i can't remember who we were playing. Some lads at the back started chanting his name,i turned to my mate...what's that all about ? i said.

These lads might well have been scunthorpe fans who knew of Andy's prowess from a dead ball. Beckhamesque it was.In fact,**** that,Beckhams glorious spot kick for England against Greece was Dawsonesque. Dawson is GOD. Thank you !

 

It's a legal requirement that no one from the club is on the committee. To do with tax implications I think.

The Allams were invited to the launch but are both abroad. Barmby is going.

 

Are you involved in the committee ISTPL? How do you get involved in something like that, and are there any events we should be looking out for? Hopefully I can get along and support some of them because Daws is one of my favourite players to have played for City.

I'm on it, simply because I'm involved with the OSC and I've got a lot of free time! I'll keep you informed on the upcoming events, some of them will be easier to get tickets for than others.

Yes, the same format as a few of the RL players have had. The guy who is doing it is the same guywho did them for Stanley Gene and a few others.
