Yes. The game we looked good was against a weak--maybe much weaker--Maribor team. We haven't played well in the Prem since the first half at Southampton. But I think we're agreed anything can happen in this one. Not too much would really surprise me: an easy win for either side, a dismal scoreless draw, etc. If there's been any pattern lately it's been that the favorite is at a disadvantage, but in this case both are on the slide. For some reason dismal scoreless draw has a certain ring to it.
Last NLD we came into the game in top form, Arsenal in dire form. The form switched subsequently. This time we both come into the game in dire form. 3 straight defeats for us is no laughing matter. Here's hoping our form switches as a result of this NLD.
One problem we're liable to suffer from is the absence or knackered situation of Sandro, could a crucial factor.
Is he definitely going away with Brazil then - that's annoying if so. He was our best player against City.
Cazorla going to Panama to play a bloody friendly with Spain, evens that out. Like Sandro is for you, Cazorla is so important to us.
Like someone already mentioned, both teams are in poor form. So we're either going to get a 0-0 or a 5-4 I reckon. Team I'd like to see play: Lloris, Naughton, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen Lennon, Sandro, Dembele*, Bale Adebayor, Defoe *If there is a God, I pray he makes Mousa fit for the NLD! Otherwise I suppose it'll have to be Hudd. Subs: Not bothered if that XI gets picked (which it won't ) If we go 4-5-1 with Dempsey again, I really don't hold much hope. Just go for it AVB! Stop being a pussy with the "solid" 4-5-1!!!
We can't keep a clean sheet (villa don't count cos they have been so bad in front of goal away from home) so my team would be Lloris (just to shut everyone up) Naughton Dawson Caulker Vertongen Lennon Sandro Dembele (or Carroll if dembele is injured) Bale Adebayor Defoe Tell the team to simply attack at every opportunity...see if we can out score them But....I suspect it'll be way too defensive in the hope we frustrate them and the gooners turn on their team...and then we lose it in the last few minutes... Sorry guys ... having a glass half full day!
I'm not so sure, you can bring in Wilshere and Arteta, we're probably talking about Livermore or Carroll if Dembele can't make it.
Hi SOS, that would be the team I'd go for, Lloris, Naughton, Dawson, Caulker, Vertonghen Lennon, Sandro, Dembele*, Bale Adebayor, Defoe but as you know major question marks over Dembele and Sandro.
My team would be Lloris Walker, Caulker, Vertonghen, Naughton Sandro, Carroll Lennon, Dembele (or Sig if unfit), Bale Adebayor
Walker, Lennon and Defoe are apparently now doubts too. Hopefully the former 2 are just trying to get out of the Englad squad.
I saw that too http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...rth-london-derby-against-arsenal-8312347.html Not sure on Walker, he did limp off, but I think you're right re. Lennon, he knows he's behind Downing Sterling Walcott and Oxface...so whats the point!
Sounds good to me. It depends on what AVB's intentions are. If he plans to go for it, I'd like to see both Ade & Defoe given a chance to see if they can develop a partnership. But no Gallas, and no Huddlestone has got to be a start. Naughton worth the risk at LB. Hopefully he will have learnt from the **** up against Maribor.
