When will the government realise that the cheapest option/option paying them the most is not always the best option? It happened with G4S, it happened with the West Coast Mainline.... When will they learn? Do you have to have an IQ below 100 to become a politician or something?

I have a distant relative through marriage who has been mentally handicapped since his early 20's. He's 65 now. His brain is deteriorating, but fairly slowly. He has a whole army of people who are there to aid him and make his life richer. And yet, on many occasions, amongst that army, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Communication, or the lack of it; one of the most important qualities in any working environment, and it is still the bane of British companies, institutions, the works.

My elder sister managed a Southampton based charity called The Rainbow Project. It had been around for something like 20 years, I believe, and built itself up on strong principles of giving the best and well directed support [to teenagers from broken homes] that they could possibly manage. When the Coalition was elected, a huge tide of changes came through the system. Southampton City Council considered Rainbow a Rolls-Royce charity giving RR support and it was closed down in favour of a slightly cheaper organisation who gave, what was called at the time, Ford Escort support.

Rainbow was closed down basically because it was too good and it made other support groups look poor in comparison. That's Govt mentality for you.

Has your relative been declared fit for work yet?, a guy I know did he has no legs and only one arm. Yet on his medical (which you have to score 15 points or over) he scored a 0.

I also have a relative who sufferers from insomnia, depression and anxiety, he can't leave his house as he can't handle being around strangers. Every 6 months he is given a medical and scored 0, only to appeal and get the 15 points needed. Can't imagine the loss of his benefit then the appeal can help his condition.

Thankfully, he's retired now. He was on job seeker's allowance for years and the previous system before that. He would regularly have to attend interviews, but his mental disability meant that he could not hold down a job. After his accident, I think he had half-a-dozen jobs in the intervening years, lasting between a week or two. A year ago his brain was scanned and they finally found that something like an inch of the surface layer of his brain had atrophied. Years ago, they completely misunderstood his condition and made his life a bit of a misery. Since he turned 65, the whole system completely changed. It's like night into day. Of course, they still make stupid mistakes, as hinted at in my previous posts.

I am not a Thatcherite as you call them, nor did i have a pop at university students per se - just you mister, in defence of the absolute garbage that you trot out about me on this site. Patriotic - correct, anti-political correctness - correct when it reaches your levels of idiocy, immigrant-fearing - yes when it reaches epidemic proportions of the wrong type of immigrant, lefty-hating - no, disagree with lefties generally but i dont hate them, Thatcherite - not at all, is this a term you picked up during your couple of hours a day at university ? And i understand full well what you are saying, so just drop the word twisting. In fact just f--- off as i find you an annoying little twerp and i have got better things to do than answer your garbage.

    Patriotism - check
A belief that patriotism has a place in politics - check
Conservative stance on morality - check
    Euroskeptic - check
    Skeptical on immigration - check
    Skeptical on welfare - check
    Anti-socialism - check

And don't think I've neglected to notice that, yet again, you have no response to my argument on Remembrance Day. You've confirmed that you respect the customs of other countries but choose not to partake in them yourself, which is exactly the same thing as what James McClean chose to do on Remembrance Day. You are an enormous hypocrite my good man.

You dont have an arguement that i havnt responded to. I confirmed no such thing and i am not a hypocrite - nor any of the other things that you have cared to label me with. You appear to be a over-opinionated, smart-arse who imagines that he is superior to me. Well lets just leave it at that shall we - you get on with your life in your make-believe little world, and i will get on with mine in the real world. Bye.

Fair enough, remain in denial. I didn't expect anything more from you anyway.

They say no one made any complaint. They were only forced to act by that Society of Black Lawyers who must have terrific hearing if they could hear the racist remark from miles outside the ground. The FA investigation is into an inappropriate remark....he probably told Mikel to bog off.

Love how Braintree v Tranmere is worthy of being on ITV4. Definitely watching this.

MK Dons have won their cup replay and will play AFC Wimbledon. That's going to be fantastic.

Just a small query which i cant resist asking - are you actually English ? Sceptic is spelt with a 'c' in our language and i note that you use a 'k', which is often the American spelling. Am i being lectured here by a foreigner ? Or is this educated t... not quite as smart as he things he is ? Just asking.
