Always thought grown men look silly in football shirts, especially now with the growing trend of tight fitting shirts - spurs + chelsea
I love seeing kids in the new Saints strip...they are the future. Glad that they feel proud to wear our strip rather than one of the top clubs.
If you have a few extra quid to spare for a good cause http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/remembrance-shirts-set-for-auction-482386.aspx
As someone mentioned hardly more than a few posts above yours - Away at Liverpool. Hey, I love the Brazil kit anyway. The more times I see it the better.
can't believe someone above says they would feel a mug wearing any Saints shirt. Only Thursday night I wore my yellow one to a pool match. Someone I didn't know said 'You're brave' to which I replied 'not brave mate, Proud'. I actually said chav not mate but don't want another argument over the meaning of chav with Steinberg. lol. Bottom, middle even L2 they are Saints and I feel proud to be a Saints fan and show to all that I am. As for the tight fitting ones. I actually buy an S because I like my shirts more eighties fitting I still have the hummel one and that was bought for me when I was 13 or so. Tight fit but original and retro although it is more pink and white than red. lol. Rarely worn but I do sometimes. And both my kids love wearing their Saints shirts with their surnames on the back. Makes me feel even prouder as it was their choice to support Saints when I was pushing them more towards Lincoln (being their hometown)
On the subject of away kits: Best away kit of all time (though you don't get it's full glory in the image) please log in to view this image
Lol Winchester is my hometown, Lincoln is theirs. I am old fashioned and believe you should support your local team. The team you where your roots are sown. Therefore I bought them a Lincoln shirt. It was later they wanted to support the team Daddy supported.
Better late than never. Love the Brazil Kit, hate the red one, not quite with a passion, but its getting there. White one looks better, but it would appear (or not) never actually on a Saints player. I've had 3 saints kits. The bue flame, the Recent FA cup away top, and last years excellent home strip. I'd buy another one if its to my fancy, which would probably be stripes.
At least we haven't gone down the road of wearing the white shirt with the red shorts. I remember that terrible strip. I wish the Brazil kit had green numbers
I have to say that football kit is for footballers. I have various football shirts that the odd relative has seen fit to bestow upon me, but I've never bought one, except when I played the game, and then I bought the whole kit and boots. I think it looks quite good seeing fans dressed in their football shirts inside the ground, but I think it looks rather ridiculous to see them being worn in anything other than a football environment. Just my opinion. Thinking about it, I did walk into the Rising Sun pub in Warsash with my wetsuit on, about 6 summers back [2006, the last properly decent summer we had in the UK]. I'd beached the dinghy I'd been sailing in [click the link to see the pub]. They didn't bat an eyelid. Did the same once in the Osborne View, after beaching the boat. Young kids on the beach thought I was French..! They asked, Mister are you French..? I answered, Oui..! This was after I had apparently [to them] walked on water. And the White Hart Inn in East Cowes. Mind you, to be fair, that was in storm sailing gear. And there have been other places too. Blimey, I've done this a lot..!
Why? - 'Coz he can and that's what he wants. When we go to Wembley for the FA Cup Final what strip should we use this time?
The away strip looks by far the best i sort of think it looks more like a saints home shirt! The yellow shirt looks rubbish as well look like something from the mid 90s. The red shirt doesnt look right, i hated it from the outset. many other people also slate it yet thousands have bought the thing and wear it for the home matches. I reckon that even if saints had made it blue thousands of fans still would have bought it because there are an awful lot of mugs uut there....
less than 20 years ago. 2 recent ones I remember and they have Friends Provident on them. The dark blue Pahars era one and the light blue one. I own both and like them both. The light blue with dark blue and white trim was the first Saints shirt I owned that was the more modern lightweight material. Some of the oldies I have are like jumpers
