In OZ where I now live, Rugby, Rugby League, Aussie Rules and football ALL have salary caps, and have done for years. Are the competitions even ??? I wish. Do small clubs get a chance to be big clubs ??? They wish. Do big clubs become small clubs??? Small clubs wish. Do they reduce ticket prices ??? Everyone wishes. The Governing bodies get most of the money, the Clubs run close to a loss, the whole thing is a farce. Doesn't work, except on paper. Best players get most salary, best Clubs get best players, Same big 4 win every year ( except in Rugby and football due to players changing clubs as often as their boots, or getting poached by foreign teams)
