I guess the question is whether there's anyone who's seriously interested in owning an F1 team that is the slowest on the grid. At the moment I see no potential buyers and as much as I would hate to see them go it's not worth any more organisations wasting millions and millions of pounds on something with little chance of success.
I guess the ideal situation is that a car company decides that now is the moment they want to enter F1, especially with the cost of HRT going to be pretty low. They can take over, and hopefully get into the midfield relatively quickly.
Long long long shot but..... VW are for ever linked with F1. VW own Seat which is Spanish and the 'young' branch of VW. Would VW enter F1 as Seat, but if it comes true I'll make sure I flag up this post lots Then theres the guys who failed to get into F1 a few years ago, this is their chance!
Are Prodrive GP or Stefan GP still active in any way at all? Also, surely with VW having an awful lot more marque brands under their name, they'd enter with a more exotic name?
I'd imagine they'd come in with Audi, or maybe Lamborghini... but probably Audi. Prodrive have just dropped out of their WRC partnership so who knows.
Every team plays a part in this sport no matter how big or how small. I hope they are able to find a buyer that can continue their progress and not just come in and sell up again when they can't work miracles. The money in the sport should be more evenly distributed so that smaller teams can stand a chance of competing and we don't have to go through this cycle of teams collapsing.
Imagine if they can't find buyers, and dropped out of the sport altogether. That would leave Caterham as last in the constructors championship for next year (if standings stay the way they are)! Oh how the not-so mighty have fallen

When I visited pro-drive last year the talk arrived at the F1 bid. Turns out that Pro-drive had a engine supplier set up and was all set to go but Bernie said as part of the bid they had to take to Cosworth engine. Pro Drive saw that as a handicap and withdrew. If they were going to do it, they were going to do it their way. With that in mind, the HRT does not have KERS. The engine is the underpowered Cosworth and it would take a new supplier to get them further up the grid. It would be interesting to see if McLaren get the Honda engines they are looking to develop after Mercedes want £££ for their engines from next year. There could be a couple of Merc engines available if so. Either way Pro Drive entering F1 anytime soon isn't going to happen.
