I understand what you are saying but , things have changed , in the old days you had to put up with the odd duff manager , the board doing crazy things.

Support is a 2 way street , the fans support the club and the club does its best to be successful.

Thats not what the OP is complaining about , he now feels that the club is TAKING THE PISS out of the fans.

With the prices of everything going up , the percieved penny pinching attitude to buying REAL quality players .

Selling our best players to our rivals without even a second thought to what the fans would think of it.

To me the board dont even care about making wenger look ridiculous , he talks about how big clubs dont sell their best players , 5 minutes later they have gone and he has egg all over his face.

If he had a real passion for Arsenal he would have told them this has to stop , get me players x y and z or im off too.

The board is taking the piss out of the fans AND wenger .

The OP has decided hes not being played for a mug anymore , hes giving up his seat for another swedish schoolgirl and an individually wrapped Mr Kipling .

I really don't know why i bother writing out full and proper replies. I take the time to address the points raised in debate against me and put forward my opinions.

Unfortunately on this thread in particular that has been met with a few posters who seem totally incapable of reading. Arsenal87, once again you have taken one line from my entire post and decided to try and use that as the perceived weakest link in my argument to attack my opinions. I pointed out that you do this earlier in this thread and suprise suprise your still unable to grasp the concept of reading a full post and taking out the actual points raised within it.

What is the point in me approaching a subject sensibly and highlighting the different factors that effect it, if your simply gonna grab one line from my post and try and have another random moan? You clearly have no intention of having any form of debate or conversation about this subject, you simply want to shout your opinion at everyone else and ignore any valid points that are put to you.

As for the ******ed Loserpool fans - just piss off, your posts show a massive lack of knowledge about Arsenal, so just go away, your not contributing anything.

JUST TO BE VERY CLEAR: CHAMPIONS LEAUE QUALIFICATION IS THE MINIMUM I EXPECT OF THE CLUB, IT IS THE SAME WITH THE BOARD AND WENGER. THIS DOES NOT EQUATE TO BEING HAPPY WITH NO TROPHIES. IS THIS POINT NOW CLEAR FOR THE LIVERPOOL FANS AND ARSENAL87?

Seriously if anyone is stupid enough to reply again with this rubbish about being happy with no trophies and not wanting to compete, then there really is no helping you, the school system has failed you, society has failed you and therefor i'm sorry that you will live such a miserable and ignorant life. Please practice your reading skills before before attempting to reply to anyone ever again. Thanks!

I think we can nail this one down.

NONE OF US ARE HAPPY WITH JUST FINISHING 4TH.

But for the board , this means the cash keeps rolling , and for THEM , its acceptable .

No. I really don't think it is. Some of the board are really up themselves and i'm sure not winning pisses them off as well. BUT they clearly accept that finishing 4th is a neccessity and that it must be a key priority for the club. Yes it keeps the cash flowing in (which whether you would like to admit it or not, or possibly u just dont understand) which gives stability and keeps us from dropping further. But also there are very obvious footballing reasons for it such as attracting top talent and being in the top competition for europe (gotta be in it to win it).

I'm really not sold on Kronke it has to be said... i'm not sure what his game is and continue to be concerned what his aims are. But the rest of the board despite there weaknesses are clearly Arsenal through and through and want us to be successful.

Just because everyone has different views on HOW the club should more forward and obtain future success, doesn't mean anyone doesn't want us to move forward and win trophies.

(and just a little side note for those who insist on telling us all how much the board are just trying to fill there own pockets - No dividends are paid out of the club, they haven't been and as of yet there are no plans to do so, the board take wages like any other board of directors)

Erm yes, the board takes wages, but if the finances of the club are good, that can allow an increase in wages! Just like how players are able to get nice and big fat contracts due to high revenues being made!

That's something I'd LOVE TO SEE, how high the board members wages have in the last 5 years, the % increase.

I think there are some fans that are CONTENT and pleasantly PLEASED with only ending up in 4th place.

@Arsenal87 - i bet they have had a decent % increase in wages considering the performance of the company in terms of financial results. The increases in revenue we have seen are down to the actions of the board and it makes sensee in a company that the directors are paid more when the company is doing better. That said, there is no chance that there wage increases cover the amount extra we now earn, thus the club has more money and so do the directors. Thats good for everyone and not something to moan about.

Those who think we need to invest more in the team should appreciate this as without the increases financially we have seen imagine what we would be investing in the team?

Also, i'm very pleased we finish top 4 each year (and in Wengers rain it is more often 1st, 2nd or 3rd than 4th), i really appreciate being able to watch Arsenal in the CL and i think all fans should appreciate that, it's the attitude of a spoilt child not to. However i am not pleased that we haven't won anything for so long and that at the moment we are not even in the title race. I have always remained happy with the club as even when not winning we have been well and truley competing - cup finals, league title challenges etc... And also playing entertaining, attractive, attacking football.

Currently i'm not pleased with the fact we are aiming for a top 4 spot rather than ending up settling for one. I think most people are agreed on this. All i'm pointing out is how important having CL football is to the club.

Fact is with the current board 4th is all we are capable of. No shame In that and no need for a sugar daddy. It's reality more than anything else and shouldn't affect support.

Exactly <ok> Hoping that we finish in the top 4, doesn't mean that we don't WANT to win the league and are content with 4th. It means that at the moment, that is a realistic target.

People who start deserting the team because 'we should be winning the league' might as well **** off and take their plastic glory boy 'support' to City or the Chavs as far as I'm concerned. I hope those threatening to give away their Season tickets do us all a favour and do just that, so that someone who actually gets behind the team can take their place.

Thumbs up right back to you.

For me and many other fans, we are not VERY PLEASED or pleased at all with simply finishing in the top 4 every year without any real success or signs of improvement to do better, we expect and aim for better.

He also makes it clear that he is not pleased with the fact we are aiming for a top four spot. If we go for it and try win something and fail but have to settle for a top four place, then all is not lost. It's a question of ambition and I agree with him on that. The current problem is that we are already settling for a top four place before the season starts. Even a couple of years ago, this was not the case. The regression despite having more money to spend is worrying.

Arsenal87 your just doing the same thing you've done all the way through this thread, your totally ignoring everything said in a post and picking out one line that you think you can try and prove your point with. If your read my posts i think i've made it very clear how i feel about the current situation and you are either to thick to understand my position or your choosing to ignore what im writing.

Your words, not mine, you said YOU'RE VERY PLEASED with simply ending top 4 every year.

I on the other hand, am not, simple. Not because I want us to drop out, but because for me, AFC is such a greta club with high standards, and great resources, that top 4 is a FORMALITY, not a CHALLENGE for us to fulfil as some sort of task or success. Manunited, Barca and other elite teams, don't go into a season saying yes top 4 here we come, or yes we're happy for top 4, they go into a season saying all right the goal is to WIN THINGS or at least be right up there till the end. And that's how it was for Arsenal not so long ago, I mean imagine from 2002-2005 if someone were to say oh for Arsenal we should be very happy with merely ending top 4, you'd have been laughed out of the park with that rubbish. We're Arsenal football club, not f--king Spurs, we are a massive club, our rightful place is challenging and winning trophies, anything less, is a failure. Simple.
