Shola seems to think he's got the God given right to be in the team and it's time he found out he hasn't. Kuqi has shown more determination in his few minutes on the field than Shola shows in the entire game. Time to drop Shola and start with Kuqi and give one of the youngsters a chance alongside Kuqi to gain experience.

Williamson is fine and should keep his place in defence until he has more than the odd off day.

<laugh> Couldn't think of a worse PE lesson than that!
Although, getting knocked out by a cricket ball has to come close.

Is that the area you asked for or were you just given it? There's a seat next to me that isn't taken up by a ST holder and is available.

You ought to beat Birmingham, they were piss-poor against us, we outplayed them but (SAFC) as is well known cannot score ****ing goals.

Ah right, nearly bought them for the Gallowgate but I've got a fair few mates in the Leazes corner and I've never sat at level 2 before so fancied a change!

I often slate Williamson and i don't think he had a great game on Sunday
I also think that he has been at fault for more goals than just the ones we've conceded against bolton and Lpool as i still think he was at fault for the goal against Fulham and that lil Sh*t duff scored!
Anyway back to the point I'd play him because when we played blues away (one of the few I've been able to go to)
He was fantastic and as a defensive display it was one of the best I've seen from the toon
I'd love to see us do something slightly different
    Krul
    Simmo, Willow, Collo, Enrique
    Tiote Barton
    Gutti Nolan Ferguson
    Ranger

I know everyone says it was Enrique but Willow was 5 yards deeper and played duff onside
But it's a game of opinion

Agree totally with the sentiments about having to earn your place. Too many players have gotten used to playing badly and still getting picked. We need to mix things up a bit.

Like the line up as well although I would start with Lover or Ranger instead of Kuqi or Shola.

I would be tempted to drop Williamson but I would also be tempted to play him because he had Zigic in his pocket against B'ham at their place. I guess I'd just toss a coin or something.

Ameobi HAS to be dropped. IMO he is miles better then Lover but at least Lover works hard and chases lost causes whereas Ameobi just strolls around letting his strike partner do all the work. Anyway, I would give Ranger another go.

Also, I would drop Tiote as we need him in order to not get destroyed by Chelsea and two more yellows would mean a suspension going into next season. I would give Raylor his chance seeing as he did OK against Bolton he just made one stupid tackle. This would move Barton into the middle where he is more effective IMO.

    My team:

    Krul

    Simpson
    Taylor/Willo
    Collo
    Enrique

    R. Taylor
    Nolan
    Barton
    Gutierrez

    Lovenkrands
    Ranger

    Subs:
    Harper
    Perch
    Taylor/Willo
    Ferguson
    Tiote
    Kuqi
    Ameobi

Bring on Shola at 60/70 mins if Ranger is playing poorly.
Bring on Ferguson for Raylor or Gutierrez if we are winning by 2/3 goals at 60/70 mins.
Tiote on for Raylor if things are falling apart at half time or in the second half.

Williamson dominated Zigic when we played them at St. Andrews - if Zigic plays I think Willo may play. If Zigic is injured and a more agile forward plays I think Taylor will play.

I'd also play R.Taylor on the right with Tiote and Barton in the middle. Nolan will get goals playing off the striker against teams like Birmingham.

Jugding by recent performances and the fact that this will would 100% iron clad our survival I would personally go with this team:

    Krul

    Simpson Williamson Coloccini Enrique

    R. Taylor Barton Tiote Gutierrez

    Ranger Lovenkrands

The back four explains itself, Williamson had a shocker against Liverpool but has been reasonably alright most of the season, dropping him would probably do more bad than good especially since Taylor is worse.

I'll get slated for this but I think its time we see what the team would look like without Nolan in it, against Liverpool (and for a while now IMO) he offers absolutely nothing from midfield and was the worst player against Liverpool IMO, maybe just needs a rest? Barton was pretty bad against Liverpool also but towards the end he played in a more central role and was more effective.

So after moving Barton into the central role, Ryan Taylor should get his chance on the right, hopefully get some good set pieces and crosses into the box, because Bartons deliveries have been nothing short of dire recently.

People saying to rest Tiote for Chelsea so we dont get hammered? I'd personally rather make sure we hit 44 points than avoid a beating at Chelsea, we need to play our best team available and get those points on the board first.

Ameobi doesnt look fit to me, and is playing awfully, Lovenkrands is aswell but I think Ranger and Lovenkrands have pace about them and Birminghams defence certainly arent the quickest.

I know the dropping of Nolan would be controversial and I'm not 100% sure myself but its something to think about.
