If we're going to look at fantasy signings then I'm afraid I'll plump for Neymar ever time He could play in one of the wide positions and is pretty much a dead cert to bag a few too. Him, Suarez and Sterling would be a awesome front trio IMO
Here my choices for Liverpools next signings. Jack Butland as eventual successor to Pepe Reina Simon Kjaer. Victor Waynama Dries Mertens Ricky Van Wolfswinkel Klass Jan Huntelaar Isco,
Question still stands... Edit: assuming you mean the next two or three windows of course, unless you want to wait for them to join us for their pensions...?
So my question still stands, where we getting the £60m from...? Baring in mind that over the course of two or three windows there will be others that we need to replace too. For example, Sahin will be returning to Madrid. We don't have any high valued players that we could palm off without having to buy a replacement for the first team either.
Well here is a way. We've got the two biggest sponsorship deals in the premiership with regards to our kit. £50 million in total, (£25 milllion from Warrior+ £25 million that is self generated, as we own 50% of the kit rights). There is also £20 million from Standard Chartered plus £7 million from secondary sponsor Carlsberg. Thats £77 million in revenue. Should we get less than half that per annum, we could add a number of players added to the whatever is generated in sales. We've no debt unlike a certain other club who loses £75 million a season in interest repayments. So we can compete.
That is not £77m extra income. Did we not have sponsorship or kit deals beforehand? Do we not have any outgoings? Have we not been used to having CL income in previous years which would be of a similar level? I'm no accountant, but I pretty share it is not as easy and clear cut as you are saying
I dint think we need all that many big money signings. We mostly need to sort out our front three. Then a left back. I would say any other signings are largely for squad depth.
Left back? Johnson has been awesome there this season and Enrique has been playing well (MOTM today) since he returned from injury.
JOhnson has been good there but that is not his natural position and Robinson isn't quite ready. more of a balance thing for me.
Lahm's done alright playing at LB for a right footer. The way teams are playing now with left footed wingers on the right and visa versa, I personally think having a right footer at LB is the way to go. In the same way Arbeloa was played LB against Barca to play against Messi, knowing he'd cut in a lot and if he did that, it would be onto Arbeloa's stronger foot.
Not saying it is bad, just saying I think it shows more of that inbalance in our backline that Kelly out and Enrique out we have to bring up an unproven 18 year old ( who has done fantastic) and move our starting RB to LB to cover as there isn't really any depth there yet as Robinson isn't quite ready. He does do well there though. Not the immediate worry but something to look into for me. Btw, I had Ivanovic in my team............ YOUR ALL WELCOME!
So much bullshit in this thread, we need one or two strikers that can bang the goals in and that's it, stop moaning you pussies! Our attacking play is good we just need end product. So much drama, it's worse than X factor! Raheemthespeedmachine you've got to be kidding if you think that all that money is coming directly into the club and not servicing various debts / contractual obligations, especially since your fav player is demanding about half the club's budget in wages! ;-)
