Should Alan Pardew find he has no job, Chrissy was sacked for less.

Ole Gunnar Solskjear
Bert van Marwijk
Roberto Martinez
Ottmar Hitzfeld
Jurgen Klopp
Ralf Rangnik

Some posters almost understandably will give me a little stick for this thread but these would be the coaches I'd want to speak to.

Klopp wouldn't come here in a million years. I don't want Pardew gone, but if for whatever reason he wasn't in a job I'd want Martinez as I feel he's served his apprenticeship with Wigan and play's nice attractive football which would suite Cabaye, HBA etc. He'd also be a realistic and affordable option.

Also this...Pardew will be here for a long time yet and deserves backing through this rough patch for all his good work last year.

Rough patch <laugh>

You's are top ten and going through to the latter stages of the Europa <doh>

We have reason to question O'Neill, questioning Pardew already after all the success is almost unbelievable!

can't believe anyone is calling for a change... it's your right to air your views though.
it takes SAFC83 (cheers fella) to put it into some kind of context....

I wouldn't sack him myself, but I certainly would ask him what is going on with his stealing Graeme Souness' tactics.

I'm as fed up and angry at today's result as any in recent times, it's frankly embarrassing to lose at home to that.

But anyone even contemplating thinking about Pardew's sacking has got to be considered criminally insane.

I think there's a great call for sacking a whole heap of the players but to even raise the idea of ditching a man who has raised again our expectations, gotten the club back into Europe, all the while enjoying worse owner 'support' than most dogs in Battersea – is mental.

This club will never get within spitting distance of success by chopping and changing managers at the first sign of adversity. The proof????!!!!!... Newcastle United.

This is a very sensible post, although I would love for Pardew to ditch that flat 4-4-2... that formation is also considered criminally insane.

Yeah it's an insane formation when we lose and inspired when/if it succeeds.

There's no formation in the world that turns leggy, flat, and often clueless players into winners. It sure as hell won't cure abject delivery into the box and sometimes a complete inability to pass and retain the ball.

We need to go right back to basics because even if we were somehow permitted to use 8-8-4, at the minute it would be pointless...

I can only assume this is a wind-up. We're playing terribly, as bad as we have for a few years, yet we are mid-table and you can be quite sure we're not going to get relegated. What do people expect? We overachieved last season, add in the inevitable toll of playing in Europe and we were always going to struggle to get top 7 let alone top 4/5. I'd still expect us to finish 8-10th but am disappointed that there's not a game so far this season i could point at and say "that's us playing well". We're scratching out results and playing poorly, but we've been in far worse shape.

Unless we drop to the bottom 5 after christmas and look like playing poorly every week then i see no reason why we should talk about a change of manager. Despite playing hideously all season, if we'd won today we would have gone joint 7th and only 3 points behind Everton (who the press are currently jerking off left, right and centre).

Pardew was let down by the board in the summer, however as you've stated we're yet to play a match where we deserve to win. I think the next four games are huge, all winnable on paper against teams in the lower half. If we only won 1, maybe 2 of the next four from a fans point of view people would question him (me being one of them). However from a board room point of view we could finish 16th and he'd still not be in danger of losing his job.

It's not even results that matter to me at the moment, I find us boring to watch, that coupled with poor results is tedious as hell. If we lose against Swansea but create genuine clear cut chances, playing with the ball on the large grass rectangle I could handle that. It's the Allardyce tactics that are my main gripe at the moment.

People said that when we ditched Hughton too, and I don't think you'd find many now who'd say it was the wrong decision.

All the talk in the world isn't going to change the result or the poor show put up, I'm not even going to talk about it anymore, it's depressing me.

I know what you mean, I normally just switch off from football for a few days when we lose, try and avoid SSN and normally don't come on here after a defeat for a bit. It's just with every game that goes by this season I lose a bit more belief in Pardew.

Does he deserve to be sacked? Of course he doesn't, that doesn't mean he has my complete confidence either though.

There's no way Pardew will be sacked unless we're on the brink of relegation and/or losing players due to lack of any sort of success.

Ashley and the board never like Hughton, but they seem to like Pardew. Even if we fall to mid table, I don't think he'll get sacked. An 8 year contract is basically saying that the board are happy to keep him as long as the side are getting a substantial amount of points, the fans are still buying tickets and the club is making money.
