Calling Mango / Northolt as your the force behind this forum please give me the Re-assurance that everything will be ok. The champagne is still in the fridge i went to get it out twice this weekend but i just cant open it, My 16 year old has been playong Pig Bag on a continious loop since 5pm Saturday night and as much as i love the tune its driving me mad now, its becoming a very long week i just want to be put out of my misery.
In the words if Faithless: "Everything will be alright tomorrow" As much as I would love to see Colin eat his own words, you lot deserve to go up....
Cheers Northolt - you've cheered me up too. Everytime I tune in the radio or TV, or read something online, all they seem to be going on about is how many points we're gonna be deducted. Do you think we would accept a points reduction that would allow us to retain automatic promotion, without the hassle of the play-offs? I would!!!
Great words Northolt. Agree it sums the situation up perfectly. As I said before, guilt is one thing (not yet proven) and mitigation is another. Whilst a hefty fine is expected by all should we be found guilty as charged, any decision that overlooks the ã80 million plus we'd lose for being denied the promotion opportunity earned would be a massive conspicuous injustice. That would induce an acrimonyous appeal of mega proportions. I just cannot see anyone benefitting from that.
come on Let's Keep the Faith. The FA need money so I will stick my next on the line and say a petite fine. In the Daily Snail, Ken Bates has managed to assist NW with his team talk on Saturday, lets hope for a huge win against the "biggest club in the championship".
basically, that if we are not punished enough (so that weeds get some sort of advantage) then he will launch a legal challenge aginst the decision. Personally, if I was in his shoes, I would rather give the manager som more cash for better players. Saturday's game is likely to be very spicey....and I only hope we stuff Leeds
Best case: we get off which with ur lawyers i think we will Worst case: we get a massive points deduction and sue the FA, FL and Sun for ã100 million +
I have to agree with my fellow hornet! when is the hearing? when do I need to glance at the net and see whats happened ! I still cant see how a points deduction that changes table outcome can work a legal nightmare will ensue and theres no way it will be finished before the start of next season !
Ok boys...... here's my take on things! If we are found guilty, and the Independant Enquiry go for a points deduction, then I believe we will appeal, immediately. This will put the Play-Offs into jeopardy. They may say that the appeal will be heard in a week, but we could continue appealling to the Court of Sports Arbitration. With the immense amount of money involved, we could be looking at suing the FL/FA for 60-100Mill....Can they afford to pay that kind of compensation, if they lose? I believe that we will get a fine, and nothing more! As much as I dislike the perma-orange Simon Jordan, it's worth popping along to Talksport website to listen to his take on things....And don't forget Colin was not coming back to football until Jordan persuaded him....They are close. Listen, feel better, and wait for the decision. Keep the Champers on ice, if you must, but know that you WILL be drinking it very soon!
Anyone who hasn't listened to Jordan on the thread put up by Northolt shuold do so - there is more re-assurance there than I can deal with.
