What an atrocious performance, not only today, but Thursday as well. Two worst performances I've seen this season.

Two of the most boring performances, thats for sure. Made the chavs look good today, they are equally poor defensively as us, should have pushed more with normal formation to score.

    Never play 3 CBs again.

    Always start Suso.

Drop Allen, he's been playing really poor the last few matches.

    That's what I learned today :>

    Have to agree.

I'd drop Gerrard if we had someone to bring in!

I prefer Suso when he's more central. He's so calm on the ball and composed with a really good eye for a pass. Hopefully (can't believe I'm saying this) we can get Walcott cheaply over January to play in the front 3 and move Suso more centrally

Actually all three of Gerrard, Allen and Sahin will play better once Lucas is back. They're sitting too deep, and ALL of our midfield woes stem from that. That's why Suso looks great, he's our only offensive minded midfielder (that has some flair). Allen has been very poor but DM is not his natural position so we can't really blame him. Gerrard has been playing too defensively for years now, so Lucas is really needed.

No way BR will drop Allen but he was not very good today. I think today( Arsenal at home as well) illustrated that we should have a Sissoko type in the midfield for some of these game. Allen got bossed around a lot today.

Today's game was screaming for Lucas and that bit more upfront, same old story.

I can't believe Enrique got man of the match today I must have been watching another game cos I thought he was beyond poor (along with Allen).

I didn't think we would get anything from today but a draw kind of hides how bad we were today, things need to pick up and quickly otherwise we simply we not climb the table and will finish bottom half.

Couple of positives: Suso was great when he came on, Suarez is bagging a goal every time he plays and Torres didnt score.

I agree about Enrique but I must say when he got moved higher up the field he was much better but in the back he was all over the place. Allen was the worst for me today, not jsut giving the ball away but losing the physical battle time and time again.

Another positive ( along with Suso) was Wisdom, had a really rough game with Everton and has bounced back quite nicely.

It was so inviting and we had nothing going on in attack. I was losing it at the screen saying lets have a go at these! Wonder what Assaidi did to Rodgers for him to rarely play.

    ---------------Reina---------------
    ------------Skrtel-Agger----------
    -Johnson-----------------Enrique-
    -------------Henderson-----------
    -------Gerrard------Suso---------
    ---------------Suarez--------------
    -Sterling-------------------Assaidi-

Some players I see on the pitch ad just feel confidence in them right away and think 'there is a player you can trust'.

Suarez, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas and Gerrard do that for me.

I have seen them play well and know they have talent. But Allen and Sahin dont give me that feeling just yet. I am sure Allen will do in time though.

I have quite a bit of confidence in Shelvey. Assaidi to.

  15. I thought it was so obvious what would happen. I am fully behind Rodgers and will back to the halt, but he seriously let us down today IMO. Least he had to bollox to try something and the bollox to admit he was wrong and change it back to his preferred 433 <ok>

Suso AM should be a given now, no more out wide ****. Wisdom was strong today I thought as well, forget just looking at him that he is 18 a ****ing beast.

Agreed. Enrique was setting records for giving the ball away.

Can't agree with any of you. Today we faced a side that the vast majority of pundits and other supporters categorically stated were too good and too strong for us to cope with. Even some of our own so-called supporters predicted that we would humiliated. Yet we survived their attacks and only conceded 1 goal to a mistake by Agger.

If Skertl had been available then Carra would not have played. We know that and Carra himself knows that. So what was Rodgers supposed to do with his defensive set-up? If he had played a flat back 4 then Carra would have been woefully exposed. So, for this match, a back 3 was probably the only viable formation that we could play. The consequence of doing so whilst still allowing Johnson and Enrique to go forward was that Gerrard, Sahin and Allen had to play far deeper than we would have wished and hence any midfield creativity was almost completely lost. It also meant that both Sahin and Allen were asked to play in a far more congested area that did not suit their styles of play.

It was only when the Chelsea midfield became frustrated and started relying on long balls rather than attacking through our 'soft' midfield that the possibility of introducing a more offensively minded Suso became a posssibility. Sure we rode our luck but show me a side that doesn't.

As for Enrique getting MOTM, I for one support the award. Not only did he keep his wing going forward bust was immense in his covering back and re-winning the ball. I can only suggest that those who still believe that Gerrard is lazy should visit their opticians at the earliest opportunity!

  19. Although I thought Wisdom did well, I thought today wasn't his best game so far. Speaks volumes for the impact he has made though <ok>

  20. I think you're all on drugs! Enrique was awesome today, the only reason he game the ball away was because he had little option but to run with it quite a few times, that is not necessarily a bad thing, he was giving the team time away from pressure and trying to make something happen. He was immense when defending, tracking back despite the Chelsea player having a three or four yard head start, never out muscled and won just about every ball he went in for.

    Anyone got his game stats...?
