Some interesting points and I donât want to go down the route of going to a game gives you a better knowledge of football or watching a game on TV with 40 different angles gives you a better advantage because if you know crap about the game it makes no difference. For me going to a game has the advantage because you see the bigger picture, agree on TV you have the replays and slow motion and we have all said âpenaltyâ! When we are proved wrong in the replay but said TV only shows where the ball is and not what the rest are doing so for me it will always be second best. Getting back to the OP I can see why he reacted the way he did. He went to the game, spent good money and thought we were not that bad. He then gets told if he is âon drugsâ âWUMâ and the rest. Whether we agree or not, it was wrong to mock him like they did. I probably would have reacted the same. Not long ago people on here moaned about Derry/Hill/Mackie/Paddy when they joined saying they were âtoo oldâ and âwhat was NW doingâ? Those players took us up and many posters were wrong. Some posters moan about formations and who should be playing? Agree we all have our ideas but the manager is with those players day in and out. He also looks at the team we are playing and tries to pick the best team to compete. I also think that because you do well on Fifa12 (or whatever itâs called) doesnât mean you can do it in real life? I am not happy about the results and like the rest of you expect us to be doing better, however we are where we are and need to improve but mocking the OP like some did is wrong and you can see why some people donât post that much now. Cue the âHughes outâ mobâ¦
Well said ELLERS. I once posted that I will not give an opinion on a player if I do not attend matches and of course the keyboard warrior did his usual. 'Drunk, drugs and idiot'. There are quite a few registered members who never post. I wonder why?
I can understand the frustration, but taking it out on each other is pointless and contributes to an increasingly bad atmosphere on here. Welcome Sands. Bit of a baptism of fire but dont let that stop you posting again. I agree with a lot of what you said. There was some decent play and that, gradually, we are playing some better stuff. I can also recognise that something is wrong in the camp. We cannot over-estimate the importance of that first win for all of us, players and fans. Once it does I think attitudes will fundamentally change and belief can be a powerful force. I still believe we will be ok. Hope I'm allowed that thought!
Welcome to the board Sands. Don't let the armchair warriors bully you, you have every right to be heard.
Lost it...seriously couldn't find it before last weeks Reading match so went in my QPR shirt instead...on the omen front didn't seem to make a difference (although I wore the Barca shirt to WHU..so perhaps it does) Anyway the shirt is hiding somewhere in my house....too scared to come out...will make an effort to hunt it down before Fulham...my next match..If Sparky is still there
Were people watching a different game yesterday? We totally outplayed Stoke with the team selection that everyone was praying for, created numorous opportunities and totally deserved 3 pts. Yes, yet again we came away with nothing, but points will come if MH keeps with the same starting 11 and Taarabt finds his shooting boots. We are only 5 points from safety which is nothing; you have to wonder that some so called fans on this site have any idea about football and supporting QPR.
MH can't win now mate. If he plays the side people want, he's wrong for nit changing it quick enough. If he changed it and we lost he'd probably be criticised for not giving it long enough. If he changes the team he'll get bombarded again. The players need to accept some responsibility. The goal yesterday saw 3 players drawn into the middle against one of them with Adam left unmarked and Traore failing to clear. That's not MH fault that's the players. MH can't tell Adel to chip instead of blasting it or Faurlin to stop running on in anticipation of a tap in. The issue is wider than just MH.
Although i posted after the game that i thought the last 10 mins or so were poor because we didn't seem to have any sence of urgency, didn't pile forward in search of an equaliser, after a period of contemplation i would like to offer this consideration....... For an hour or so we looked a very good, composed side, kept possession well, moved the ball around, always had a spare player to pass the ball too. Yes we must take any chances that are worked, adel needs to put his laces through the ball instead of trying to be cleaver and chip the keeper, we looked fairly solid in defence, stoke only had the odd chance in that time.....the main problem was that we did not get in behind the stoke defence enough, there were several times in 2nd half when traore made up huge ground to create the overlap but was completely ignored. I also thought that MH should have sacrificed a defender (bossingwa) instead of faurlin because from that stage we just played hoof ball that suited stoke perfectly, if he had gone 3-5-2 we could still have moved it around to create the openings, ok we may have been caught on the break but at least we would be trying to score not just go out with a whimper. Just my thoughts and no doubt some will disagree.....next week is huge, lets get behind the side, at least this week we had the side that most wated to see, stick with it for next week, no point in changing side but just get them to play 4231/433 and go for it. Up the R's
How we play is irrellevant right now.....I couldnt give a damn if we play well, but end up loosing. Its been the story of our season.....playing well against teams and getting nothing out of it. The winning mentality is just not there......all you're seeing is a rotten apple wrapped up in shiny christmas wrapping, which leads you to believe there is something good....when the reality is we are massively unerachieving. Not only is it embarrassing as a fan of the club, but its hugely frustrating and it cant go on.
Welcome Sands and Yorkshire-R, tell it as you see it lads that's all you can do. Some of the more vitriolic responses are par for the course, all part of the game.
Mate, you are entittled to your opinions but personally I do not agree with you.. Maybe you should come over and try it for a while..I could put you up?
Spot on Stoke have only let 1 goal in at home this season and that was against the Champions, yet some people cant see that? We played okay yesterday and had the chances to win the match, just like Reading last week. Adel should have scored again but blew it, that's not MH fault because only a few weeks back the posters that were knocking MH wanted Adel in the team (like Faurlin)but because he didn't score we blame MH. We played well at Arsenal and deserved a least a point but because Mbia was a muppet and got sent off which cost us it was MH fault? Everything is MH fault. The fact that Traore messed up yesterday was MH fault because us the fans wanted Traore to play rather then Hill or Onuoha, so lets blame Hughes. Sadly some on here are on a MH 'witch hunt' without actually analysing the facts. 3 weeks ago it was all SWP and Parks fault and now they are not playing it will be someone else who will take the blame. I am not saying that MH is a fergie because he is not but before the MH 'out mob' post at least look at what's happened before you all cry for his head.
Stoke also had something like 1 win in 16 games as well. They are not a good side. We controlled the midfield but only after Hughes tried something we have been calling for all season but we had nothing up front and the defence made mistakes yet again. Ive been saying both the attack and defence should have been sorted in the summer and that is Hughes fault.
I saw the game yesterday and yes I was at the ground. Does that make me any more knowledgeable than someone who watched it live somewhere else isn't relevant because different people will always have there own take on what happened. Personally I thought the TEAM played better but there is understandably a lack of confidence and I'm not going to go over what has already been said about individuals. Am I happy about where we are of course not but I will still support my team and hope that things will improve. Can someone explain what the singing of "Theres only one Neil Warnock" yesterday was all about ,was it because they had heard the Leeds score,or did those people singing really want back the man who led the Massive Leeds to a 6-1 defeat to Watford.
He selected the right players but wasted granero on the right side! Its each to their own regarding Hughes. Yes i agree, we didn't play too bad yesterday and as my stoke fan colleague stated that stoke were poor. I said to him that we were going with the 3 central midfielders we have been crying out for, only to then play a 4-4-2. We are a laughing stock to other teams!
That's because your post was the kind of thing that you'd normally only get from a drink-sodden nincompoop who's living in the 1950's. If someone watches a game on Sky for 90 minutes, watches all the replays and follows the analysis - they're not qualified to even comment on a player? The World has moved on from Old Spice and Vinyl Records mate. Its time you realised we're in 2012. As for the members not posting, that's another canard. When I was banned for a month, not one of those people posted despite the big, bad wolf being away. In fact, it was only when I started posting again that they came back on! Staines, LIUTB, Willy etc. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Welcome to the boards Sands. You'll find some people are in this forums pretty much to pick-on\belittle and attack others, Just ignore them.
Queenslander it's fine to disagree with me (mrs Ellers does it all the time). I put across my thoughts of why TV is not as good as a live game. My argument would be that watching it on TV you are dictated by what they show you. At the moment i am watching Man City v Spurs and although i am getting a good picture of the game so far im am still only seeing what they want to show. At the game you can see runs made by players or movement which you cant on TV. Yes TV has highlights/replay which is good but it's not the same as seeing the live thing infront of you (whether you understand the game or not). However saying all that i won't come on and say MH is clueless and should get the sack because we couldn't beat Reading without stating why.
