Having read this thread this morning, I would like to apologise to RebelBhoy for my stance last night. Very well put points in this thread with good knowledge of the subject, and while I still think wearing a poppy costs nothing and doesn't have to honour ALL army personnel, I can now see where you and others are coming from

And Roger, how come even when I'm not online, you quoted at least 3(maybe more) of my posts saying "there you are my biach" "hello my biach" "hi biach ive been telling everyone that you suck my cock"......were you gettin upset that I wasn't replying when you came desperately seeking my guidance? It has been noted that James McClean declined to wear a shirt with a poppy on it!! I am not going to discuss the issuses involved as I have another proposal to make, one that he would not object to.

Since the Premier League it such a forward thinking institution and has embraced the wearing of the poppy, kick out racism, perhaps the clubs should commemorate 40 years of our membership of the EU. The logo can be placed where yesterday's poppy logo was positioned!

This would be a celebration of the peace that has gradually spread throughtout the continent since the years after the 2nd WW to the present day, the removal of dictatorships to parliamentary democracies, the free movement of people throughout the member countries and the improvement in living standards across the member states.

It would also recognise the contribution of players from across Europe to our game in the UK.

My favourite and my family and I respected the two muinutes silence and we wear our poppies with pride.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

MON didnt wear a poppy either but no one has brought that up its all lets pick on McClean, but if MON didnt wear one he cant bloody force McClean to thats for sure, I dont think anyone should be forced to wear anything they dont want to wear or support something they do not want to support.

I think they'll simply suggest you do a bit of historical research (its all in this thread to be fair so you don't have to look very far!) and gain an understanding of why they may choose not to wear one.
