    Think it picks itself really.

    Krul
    Simpson Williamson Coloccini Enrique
    Barton Tiote Nolan Gutierrez
    Shola Lovenkrands

Williamson has come in for a lot of stick after Liverpool, and in my opinion it is unfair criticism. Williamson and Coloccini had us at a plus goal difference for most of the season until Sunday, and have been pretty solid. I asked for people to tell me when Williamson had messed up apart from Bolton and Liverpool, and nobody could tell me. He wins all of his headers, gets rid of the ball and his positioning is generally good! It would be unfair to drop him now.

I reckon we will win this game. I think the players know they have to put in a performance after Sunday.

    Thoughts?

As you say it; picks itself.

    I like Williamson.

First time actually playing in the top tier and he's had a good season. A few off games but the entire team is guilty of that.

Shola and Lovenkrands need to get their scoring boots on though if we are to win this game.

I wrote an article on Sunday saying that Shola and Lovenkrands have to be the worst strike pair in the league. Very ****ing poor, so poor it deserves a ****ing in front!

Agree, especially about Williamson. Wouldnt be surprised if Taylor starts though, Pardew seems to like him.

Also I would do everything possible to avoid playing Shola after the recent games: Kuqi, Ranger, Raylor, and me would all be better options in the side.

I am a fan of Williamson but he has been poor lately. I think Saylor will start on Saturday.

I have been critical of Williamson in the past but he always gives his all and should be able to dominate teams like Birmingham. His showing against Liverpool does not warrant him to be dropped at all.
Hopefully Pardew has let the squad known that most of them are playing for their futures at the club!

I think we should win this although our play will start of nervy I can't see Birmingham score

They certainly don't inspire fear in the opposition... or confidence in their supporters.

    What about Airey? Donaldson?

Taylor needs to start. Willo has been dire lately and imo has never been good enough. The whole point in a competitive squad is that unless you're performing well, you'll lose your first choice position.

Airey deserves first team game time he has been quality for the reserves If Tiote recieves another booking I would also give Richardson a few games as Tiote is now two bookings away from a 3game suspension.

This, if you aren't performing then someone else should get a chance to. At the very least it makes sure the players on the pitch are fighting for their position, rather than slacking off knowing that they'll continue to pick up their appearance bonuses regardless.

I'd go for something like this:

    Krul
    Simpson - Taylor - Coloccini - Enrique
    Barton - Tioté
    Gutierrez - Nolan - Ferguson
    Shola/Kuqi

With Ferguson and Gutierrez swapping positions at will. Was tempted to stick R Taylor at RB but doubt he'd do a better job than Simpson.

Williamson has made 1 meaningful mistake! If we are dropping people after 1 mistake then what does that do to the confidence of players like Williamson.

He has done nothing wrong, he has been solid, makes one mistake and now deserves to be dropped? Baffled, its your opinion but I can't get my head round it.

Ranger, for me, has to start. It is unfair to judge him on one start this season. We need to see what he can do when we are playing at home in a game we are expected to win. Next season we expect to see at least two strikers sign and the way Pardew is talking we are going to play one up front with HBA supporting. Therefore we need to see what Ranger can do now, because he won't get chances next season otherwise. In my opinion we really do need to start him and drop Ameobi!

Two mistakes of Williamson's could have been avoided by the correct refeering decision - making the pens against Liverpool and Man City free kicks as both were outside the box!

Still doing it mate. Research has been included, got about 2000 words to do before Thursday, got a dissertation plan to be in for Friday but haven't even started that. Got an exam next Friday also. Just haven't got the energy to do it. I should because it is about football, but the theory bollocks is doing my head in.

    "History and PE" combined?

If you have an essay on 'When children were forced to run the cross country in just a jock strap if they forgot their PE kit' I'm available to impart my story as part of your research.

It was snowing as well <wah>

    Scarred for life.
