Off the back of two bad results. United looking like they're extending the lead at the top. They are well overdue a win against us in the league. Terry set to return. Are these all omens? Not to mention that they have a far superior squad.
I never quite udnerstood the first point. I'd rather be playing a team that had 2 bad results, than one that had 2 good ones. Rather play a team in bad form, then a team in good form. I can understand the "something to prove point" but bad form is bad form, rather be playing against someone in bad form than someone full of confidence and on a high. Terry returning not too fussed, he's slow, old and past it now anyway. Cahill & Ivanovic are probably their best 2 CB's. Let's hope they play Terry & Luiz as I think Suarez would rip through them.
Last year Henderson and Carroll ripped through them if I recall so that could be a positive. We generally have a good record against them. Cole is out I heard, that could be a huge plus as well. Though their new midfield looks intimidating!
If it was a bad team in bad form then I'd agree. But how often does a team like Chelsea go without a win for 3 games? Just can't see it. Think Ivanovic, Cahill and Terry will play. To me that is stronger than a defence with Luiz in it.
Of all the things, I think it is the law of averages that I am more or less worried about. Just have that strange feeling that they will get one over us but not only that, really worried Torres will get one. ON the other hand if he does score, at least that is out of the way but we shall see.
Our last two game in the league haven't been that disappointing... Against United we should have got something if it weren't for the ref. We were gutted but not too disappointed as we did well. I think a draw at Swansea is a good result tbh. They are a great team at the Liberty so not that bad. Plus we just beat Shakhtar midweek so confidence is quit high. I do think we will win tomorrow but it will be a good game.
I reckon Torres is a nailed on certainty to bag one, at the very least he is as likely to net as Suarez is and we know how we all like to predict Luis in EVERY game
We definitely won't win, draw is a hope (hence my 2-2 prediction) but in reality we will probably lose. Can't see Chelsea losing three in a row. With their attacking players and our defense, they are bound to score at least one. Can we score two in a game? We need luck on our side to do it, that or a 'on fire' Luis Suarez and Stevie G
I haven't been so unconfident going into a game this season. Just cannot see where the win will come from.
Can't see us scoring. Well have 40% possession, one or two shots from range. I hope we don't slide down the table. Off topic. The mancs are so ffin lucky. They were losing 2-0 to villa yet win, they did the same against braga.
I agree...but **** off anyway gimp Need our back 4 fully on their game tomorrow but even then I'm not sure we've enough cover from midfield to stop Hazard and Mata ripping us apart. Good luck lads is all I can say and pray to god Suarez is on fire and takes any chances come his way.
I truly don't understand all of this gloom. We all know where our problems are and that there is very little that we can do about them until the January window. So what's different about this match? Chelsea themselves have problems with both their personnel and with the consequences of their style of play. They will also be worried about how to overcome our ability to dominate possession - even allowing for our striking deficiencies. The result of this match is not a 'given' for either side.
I guess no results ever a given Dave but Chelsea bought very well this summer on a team far better than ours. It's just a defence mechanism for most of us to accept a defeat before its actually happened because we all know what state the squads in in relative terms. I for one am keeping expectations low for a while but as a football fan I can't help but keep my hopes high I actually think tomorrow our biggest potential assets will be our three forwards (weird I know) but only if all 3 perform as a unit. Sterling and Suso are both young (enthusiastic but still learning) and Suarez obviously can go from the sublime to the ridiculous in a matter of seconds. Sterlings pace can trouble any team, Suso can beat men at will as can Suarez obviously but all three are inconsistent. I'm pretty sure the Chavs will pressure Allen all game and not let us play through him (if they've got any sense) and Sahin and Gerrard haven't been particularly adept at combining keeping possession whilst keeping us moving forward so far this season. We will come under a ton of pressure and it's how Agger, Skrts and whoever plays in goal deal with it. Put it this way I reckon an early Chavs goal could see us crushed. However the longer we can keep them at bay (or even better take a lead) the more use Sterlings pace and the trickery of Suso and Suarez will be on the break.
