Who's this Yoshiba you speak of? Does he have anything to do with Toshiba because I'm in need of a new laptop, can he get me a discount?
Well yes I would like that (wouldn't you?), but clearly he isn't. He has probably been the most consistent of our central defenders (when he isn't played at full-back) but he's not stopped us conceding these poor goals so evidently he is not "the answer".

On a lighter note, I enjoyed the crowd shots on the screen, especially the one of Cortese who appeared to be praying (certainly made the crowd laugh).
They put the highlights of the game I reffed in on the screen before the game. 99 camera angles and not a single shot of me.
I know this discussion has already dragged on too long, and this is fairly pedantic, but I think equally at fault is unfair. Gazzaniga had a simple job, he received the ball with a reasonable amount of time to look up and assess his options, and instead of picking the glaringly obvious one of clearing it up field, he chose the terrible one of attempt a suicidal pass to Yoshida. Yoshida then had a split second to salvage the situation and clear the ball, which he should have done, but instead instinctively tried to control the ball and lost out. For me, Maya is not guilt-free and deserves his share of blame, but the main party at fault was Gazza. That said, one mistake does not mean he should be out of the team, and hopefully Nigel will stick with him and not continue the goalkeeper carousel.
Just back from the game. I echo the above from Mikey. Although today I thought Maya had a solid game. We looked pretty comfortable and solid. It's sad but young keepers learn from cock-ups. Sometimes in training, sometimes in the stadium.
Just watched the replay of the Swansea goal...I don't think much/any more than half the blame can be shifted to Gazza, Yoshida's awareness and first touch wasn't there and because of that Dyer nicked the ball. Wasn't the easiest ball to control but he's a professional footballer ffs.
Best Officials are the ones that you don't notice, the worst ones were on show at St. Marys today, two out three made mistakes.
I've gotta agree with that - although Gazza cocked up, Maya cocked up more in how he controlled the ball
I think it's about even. Maya shouldn't even have returned it to the keeper in the first place as there was an obvious pass to Shaw that he should have made. And despite the difficult situation that Gazza put him in, everything about the way Maya tried to deal with it was wrong. I think he's a good player, but he always looks a bit nervous to me. Still though, why on Earth did Gazza not hoof that one upfield?
Blaming only Yoshida for that is ridiculous, sorry. It was a poor touch but he should never have been put in that position. Gazzaniga should have seen Dyer and should have punted it long. Having seen the penalty shouts again the second Lallana one was a stonewall penalty, and the booking for the first one was utterly ludicrous. Poor work from Marriner.
I had to miss the game. My son still went with my Dad, he said we played very well apart from the cock up between Gazza and Yoshida.
Think we should let this Gazza/Yoshida thing go. Goalies' mistakes can cost goals, but, although sometimes a little shaky, he showed he can be a good keeper for us. Yoshida had a good game and he put the ball back to Gazza a lot which suggests a plan...just a matter of learning the right time. We also should have scored another goal which would have made this discussion academic. We should have had a penalty (refs fault), but we failed to put other chances away.
