    The British army gave James McClean freedom of speech? Interesting. James McClean is from Derry. You understand that the people of the north of Ireland were denied civil rights. The British army opened fire on people who were marching to get those rights.

    James McClean is from Derry, Martin O'Neill was educated in Derry

    in 1972 the paras come to your town, shoot at your friends and neighbours, murder their kith and kin in an act that the British Prime Minister describes as "unjustified and unjustifiable". They lie about it throughout not one but two public inquiries. And continue to lie about it to this very day.

    Would you sport a flower to raise money for those very same people?

    The poppy appeal is to raise money for the British armed forces. Rememberance is the vehicle to sell it.

    You want to force the young man to respect those that scarred the landscape of his town for 40 years and more. Freedom of speech means nothing to you.

    This wouldnr be as big an issue if he was playing well imo. I thought last season he was a breath of fresh air but he was a one trick pony and he has been worked out.

    He obviously has an arrogance issue which isnt a problem if you are good enough but when youre still dining out on maybe 10 good performances none of which have come in the past 6 months people will start to get sick of you.

    People say he is an old fashioned winger well for me the clue is in that statement there is a reason these guys died out the game has moved on and so must he if he wants to remain at the top level. Honestly think he will be a good championship plyeer but no better unless he sorts out both his game and his attitude. So james the ball is in your court.

    Not happy he didn't wear a poppy like. Actually fuming, respect is due where its due. And he has shown none IMO , but hey..... SAFC wont get a penny from me until they take action.

    This is not my political view ( after losing a friend to politics, i very rarley discuss it), its a respect thing for me. People died, millions just doing as asked by whichever sides leaders. Please everyone give respect to all men & women both sides of any battle/war who offer their own life for a cause they may or may not believe in. Brave bastards the lot of them. Any vet has my respect, and i frequently shake hands and thank every vet ( ne cracks about being a dog please :) i have the pleasure to meet, if i agree or not with the cause they fought for.

    Billy you cant act like that marra, it just not on, and not respectful to anyone.

    I wear a poppy because I choose to. Soldiers died to give me that freedom to choose. To be made or to be expected to wear a poppy goes entirely against what it stands for! I think the issue of wearing poppies is getting way out of hand these days. You watch any tv program or the news and everyone is wearing one. It seems forced and seems that they are just handed out before going on air especially in parliament.
    And let's cut out the racist **** its pathetic and perhaps if the words Irish or feinian were replaced with black some people would be getting banned.

    Any Vet has your respect? Including the ones that shot dead 14 innocent civilians on the streets of Derry and proceded to lie about it for the next 40 years and continue to lie about it?

    On another note im from Sunderland, leamington st. Went to thornhill, bede and the durham uni.

    My wife and child are from the united states yes, and if that means you are calling them a twat. Ill be in Sunderland for my brothers wedding around march, you can meet the family then if you like.
