Just got back from Stoke after deciding i couldn't stay away!! Stupid me!! Read through a lot of posts and people saying he selected the right players and they don't know what to do for the best! Let me tell you this, the only formation was a back 4. What everyone thought would be a midfield 3 triangle was a muddled 4 with hoillet on the left and granero on the right, with faurlin and diakite in the middle. Adel played off cisse. Another example of Hughes inability to manage a team. I don't care what anyone thinks of me as i know cerny got shot down for something similar, but if it comes down to Hughes staying or going on the Saints match then i would rather us lose and him go than win and him stay, that's how strongly i feel about him!
Nah went with a mate who is a stoke fan then out for a meal and a crap drive back to Leeds. Want to know what i ate aswell?
Same here, a new manager would more than make up for those 3 points, a win would only prolong the agony.
Its sad to say Bob, but I've converted to the dark side too.... He has to go as its just not working for us or him.... Still cant want ever wish my team to lose but fully understand your sentiments mate...
This was the first game I'd noticed a significant number of fans getting on Hughes' back. It was a quite surreal atmosphere at times, alternating back and forth between gallows humour and abuse at the woefully under performing team and staff. When a right-back who averages a goal a season cuts inside and blasts a left-foot 30 yard shot high into the stand for the second time then hanging wouldn't be too harsh a punishment. Cisse put one out for a throw too when there were options for a pass.
I've been waiting for your take on the formation bob. Quite, quite bizarre!! I've just watch the extended highlights of the game and it was quite difficult to see exactly what the formation was. At first I thought it was 4-3-3, but I came to the same conclusion as you eventually that Adel was playing off Cisse in a 4-1-3-1-1/4-4-2. So, even when he gets the players right, Hughes still can't resist playing his tried and failed favourite formation. Clueless just doesn't cover it. It does explain why Granero was on the right so much.....unbelievable!!
