Having read this thread I'm actually not fussed at what McClean did. I didn't realise that vile, archaic mentality still existed. Real shame. While it does I can understand him not conforming.

I retract my earlier statements, fair play to the lad.

MON also declined to wear a poppy, he and McClean the only staff to do so.

Me, yes. Because the poppy is a mark of respect for all the soldiers who fell in the World War so that ****s like James McClean can have a right to free seech today. It isn't a sign of support for today's British Army, nor anything like that, it is a mark of respect for those who gave their lives for us. Anyone who deliberately doesn't wear one as a "sign of solidarity" or whatever the hell kind of spin they put on it, is in my book a **** of the highest order.

So your problem is James McClean exercising his freedom of speech? It seems strange that you would try and deny him this yet cite that as something the poppy stands for. Somewhat of an oxymoron.

The poppy appeal raises money. Do you know who it raises money for?

Not really, why would you exercise your freedom of speech against the people who gave you it? xercise it against the muslims or the terrorists or something at least viable, not wearing a poppy is simply him being a dick.

Also, wearing a poppy on his shirt wouldn't raise money for anyone, as he would not be buying one. It's like going to a fuuneral and booing. Costs nothing to sit there, be espectful, wear the poppy, say nothing and go home, but some Irish people are overrun by bitterness and can't see this. Yourself included, I am presuming?

Nothing like a bit of contradictory reasoning with some sectarianism/racism thrown in! And this was about the wearing of the poppy?
