At KO today, it was superb - fires a message to the powers that be

Standing Ovation and round of applause as Adkins emerged from the tunnel

It was such a, we're together as one moment and that the club is united - very impressed with the support for Adkins today

His reaction to it as well was great to see, and it sent shivers down my spine to be perfectly honest - we're all in this together

    Well Done everyone <applause><applause><applause>

Deserved to win today. Adkins can do nothing about individual errors. There is only so much the manager can do

Swans fan in piece!! Keep the faith in Adkins lads, he's quality manager. If you keep playing like you did today, then you will climb the table. Thought you were a big threat going forward, just need to stop making silly mistakes and the results will come.

All the best for the season!!

Thanks for the kind words! 95% of Saints fans will agree with you, but there's always a vocal miniority!

All the best to you, except at the Liberty later on <laugh>, I have a soft spot for Swansea being part-Welsh myself!

Indeed, excellent support, but who are these powers that be..? The media, with their relentless idea that Adkins is on the point of being sacked,,? :)

Cortese I suppose! Adkins won't be going without uproar from the fans - that support proved it

Indeed, but I think the last thing Cortese wants to do is sack Adkins. According to the meeting they had in the middle of last week, he isn't in danger of losing his job. It's only the media providing all the tension. They've completely got Cortese wrong in their impression of him, so why shouldn't they get the wrong idea of how his mind works..? Remember, if he sacks Adkins, he himself has failed, and Cortese doesn't do failure. ;)

I am sure after the performance of today there won't even be any consideration of Nigel leaving (by the club that is, the media will carry on as usual).

By the way the bloke behind me today said that he had heard that Nicola had given Nigel a "vote of confidence". DTLW, you've got a lot to answer for.

NA has got my 100% support, I see absolutely no sense in sacking him now
Any new manager can't stop individual players making cock Ups that lead to goals like today, it will cost the club a fortune and lead to instability and morale problems within the squad.
I think NA knows the squad and knows who he needs to boost the team in January.
If we go down then we need consistency and I am confident NA would give us the best chance of bouncing straight back again

Oi! The person I chat to seems to think Adkins has been given 4 games. (3 more from now). And the recruitment lot are sounding out agents.

I find that hard to believe at this moment in time, but I guess there's a chance he's right.

    To the thread...

Support was great today, felt for Nige - nothing he could really do about the end result today. Thought we looked solid and comfortable on the ball.

If there's one thing we can rely on, it's that Cortese is a stubborn piece of work. If the rest of England thinks that Nigel should be sacked, and Cortese does not, he's a lock to stay.

Just looked at the table and we have played 8 of the top 9 in only 11 games.
With a bit of luck we will start picking up points from the teams around us starting with QPR next week, now jack is back with gaston we will be fine.

Hopefully now that we're no longer rock bottom, the media will spend the coming week making up stories about Mark Hughes' job, not Nigel's.

MOTD mentioned the support for Nigel today, so I hope the media move on as it gets on my ****. Wouldn't believe gossip as it grows legs when repeated. A couple of decent results giving hope of a higher finish and this will go away. It would be expensive to sack Nigel, unpopular to sack him, and who better is available when they will largely have the same players to work with. Nigel is the man to get the best out of these players and should be given time. How secure he will be if he just keeps us up in 17th place is another matter...I could see Cortese looking then as he would hope for a better second season. But don't quote me...this is gossip...Cortese keeps things close to his chest.

How every manager must fread that vote of confidence. It's like the "Black Spot" in Treasure Island, when someone hands it to you, you know you're dead.
