I think some on here were calling for his head far too soon but, for me, that was Hughes' MK Dons away. Clearly the more talented side- Stoke were absolute dog **** from start to finish- but lost because too many couldn't be arsed. Cisse the worst culprit but Hoilett and Bosingwa not far behind.

I don't know who the answer is but I don't think Hughes can turn this around now even though he's traditionally started seasons poorly and finished strongly. He even managed to pick the right team today and then put them out in the wrong formation- Granero on the right ffs!

The only plus was that the central defence was excellent albeit up against a piss poor Stoke attack. Special mention to the over-lambasted Ferdinand who was probably our best player. I also thought the fans were excellent given the circumstances both in numbers and noise.

Watford, was Granero really on the right mate? I just can't believe that Hughes picked the right players and STILL got the formation wrong. Surely we should have been playing 4-2-3-1 with the players selected?

It looked that way to me. Hoilett on the left and Taarabt central behind. Faurlin looked like a player that had been out the team for a while (another bewildering decision) but I was delighted when I heard the team until they set up as they did. Diakite did ok- nothing brilliant but nothing disastrous but I can't stress enough just how poor Stoke were so it's difficult to really given praise to anyone. Even with a complete lack of effort, the wrong formation and a two full-backs who would struggle to get in the Barnet side we should have at the very least got a point.

Edit- it was 4-2-3-1 as I saw it but that was the problem. It needed to be 4-3-3.

I have finally mislaid my hope, I honestly don't think it matters a damn whether we sack Hughes or not, the die is cast, we're going down. There is something of the night about QPR at the moment and I'm afraid to look too far into the future but all the ingredients for an all-consuming disaster are there.

No confidence, no points, massive wages, small capacity, an owner who seems disconnected from reality as far as this football club is concerned, a team considerably lesser than the sum of it's parts, no team spirit; I could go on, but I already think I have done.

Maybe it's just postmatch blues, but something is clearly not right and no magician with a magic wand is going to turn this tanker around in a hurry.

There, I'm glad I got that off my chest!....

He was on the right side of the pitch a lot and Hoilett was always over on the left. Taarabt seemed to be in the middle although he can go wherever he wants (which is why I wonder if its worth having him at the moment).

I think it's unfair for most players to say they don't seem to care but I am suspicious about Bosingwa. It's the way he shoots from miles away. Only a player who doesn't give a **** will do that again and again, with his left ****ing foot!

But I think something is terribly wrong at the moment and no one is taking charge, including MH!!!

Funnily enough Watford I don't feel too down tonight. I've gone through the anger pain and fustration stage and now I'm almost not bothered. I was sure we'd lose today, gave my ticket away on that basis and went to the rugby club and watched the England game.

Until a new man comes in I'm not going to any more games it's too depressing

I think Tony Fernandes is more clued up than people say. What he puts on twitter is just PR. he's obviously a good businessman and wouldn't be there if he was a fool.

He's just reluctant to swap managers mid season. I can't blame him for that but I doubt he'll let MH lose all season.

I'm not really of any emotion right now either. I expected us to be the better side and lose 1-0 to a sloppy goal and I expect similar next week.

I've already paid £45 to see us lose at United though

I'm on a corporate at OT but in the home end, not sure I want to put myself through that amount of humiliation if the team can't be arsed

I've given up watching motd on the same basis

Still I'm doing steamed mussels in a white wine & garlic sauce tonight with a big salad on the side

    Chin up

We will soon reach the stage where it wont matter, we will be over 10 points off safety and then its not worth sacking him anyway. Its now or never. Unfortunately it looks like we are going to have to go through a massive rebuild, lose the only decent young players we have in Faurlin, Taarabt, Granero and Hoilett and be stuck with all the mercenaries on massive contracts who will turn into the new Rob Hulse.

Then we will be in financial meltdown as well.

Sounds tasty mate. I was watching my boy play colts rugby against a team of talented giants today. They were well beaten but the spirit was brilliant, held them to a converted try each second half, and my lad playing 15, nailed both wingers and the outside centre. Have seen nothing of the Stoke game but wish I had a tape of these 16-18 years olds playing only for a beer after the game to send to our squad, labelled 'this is pride'.
We'll be there next weekend, hoping as usual. Giving up isn't an option lads.

I think it played 4-3-3 most of the first half, the way it looked to me. Every time Hoilett got the ball he went down the left. Every time Adel had it he went down the middle. Every time Cissé had it he had it on the right. A couple of times, obviously, the 3 of them tried to meander and overlap each other but the midfield behind them were so deep most of the time, they didn't support enough!

Not giving up SB just refusing to dive into the madness for a week or two.

My brothers lad just been selected to join the England youth set up, he's a big lad for his age and they're bringing them on earlier

It's a faster game than when I packed it in 15 years ago. Then it was compulsory to take a glass of croft original before, at half time and at the end of the match

Its like having a loved one whos an alcoholic. You might try to help them and hope it works out but eventually you stop torturing yourself and just say **** it and stop caring.

Thats the way I feel. Im numb until hes gone.

Again worryingly I agree with the lad flyer

I'm a bit numb to it all. Been getting txts all night from mates who are fans of other clubs asking me where it's all gone wrong. I just tell them the day I popped out at perivale maternity hospital and became a rangers supporter. It's been decades of mediocrity punctuated by brief forays of joy every 10 - 15 years.....

I was there and it was a muddled midfield four, granero right, hoilett left. Adel played behind cisse. Hughes only knows 4-4-2
