1- aluko 2- Evans 3 - Rosie ... Tough choice nobody stood out, aluko looked the likeliest to hurt them ..
Voting after watching the game in full on Player is fair enough, but picking the man of the match from what you see on the FLS would be ridiculous.
1. Koren 2. Aluko 3. Faye I wish Cardiff would get promoted already, I'm ****ing sick of them being in this league.
It was because there were only 400 odd that went today I said radio, theres no way of stopping people so its up to everyone anyway whether they want to vote.
So did I Charlie but I've found that the Burns/Swann partnership doesn't always reflect the true performance so I'm waiting to SEE it.
What a bunch of Hitlers the Cardiff security mobsters are. Thankfully i left my car at the hotel. No wonder away fans stay away from Cardiff nowadays. Awful ground to visit. As for the game, awful. Hard to award anyone really as the game was poor to watch. Cardiff much better of 2 tired looking teams. 1)Rosie (especialy for his new haircut) 2)Aluko 3)Koren (for the best part of the match.....his goal)
Difficult to pick a man of the match as so many players were under par. Amos was poor and at fault for the first goal. He's young & will, I'm sure, be very good but I think it's time to give Jakupovic a chance. At the back, McShane was the best player - Chester and Faye too often caught out of position. In midfield, Koren and Evans were OK, Quinn and Elmo looked leg weary. Up front Aluko tried hard but was ineffective. Simpson was completely anonymous & looks in need of a rest - but who is there to replace him? All in all a bad day at the office - Koren, McShane and Evans being the best three. But we're still 4th and although we've lost all the "big" games so far they have been away from home. Still plenty of room for optimism, but another forward would be my top of the shopping list.
No-one really stood out for me 1) Aluko 2) Koren (mainly for that amazing two touch volley) 3) McShane/Evans (McShane prevented 2 certain goal when Amos was nowhere)
1, aluko 2, mcshane 3, koren Not a memorable day out. Stewards looking for non existent problems and plod filming ala k.c. style.
This sums up the weird love for McShane that has become cool lately and how it's become cool to criticise Amos too. One of the occasions you mention was a regulation clearance (had to be done, but I'd be furious if he hadn't) which came from an Amos reflex save. You describe the save as Amos being nowhere yet the clearance from McShane deserves praise and a motm nomination? Not wanting to single you out DonnyTiger it's a general thing among City fans lately. Also I'm not saying he isn't worth a nomination, because I wasn't there, I'm just highlighting the massive difference between your descriptions of the two players' inputs to that situation when really they both did well and if anything the save was more impressive.
It was a decent save, nothing special .. It was well within reach.. The 1st goal then the incident in the second half when he threw it out towards Elmo but just threw it straight out for a throw in are more of a factor.. People aren't just picking on him , there just calling what they see.. I've always said he isn't terrible, he's just average .. And a serious promotion contender probably needs better
Again, I'm not talking about the whole game or making a big point about either player, just pointing out a blatant example of how if McShane does any minor thing right these days it's treated as really impressive whereas if Amos for example makes a minor error (or in that situation, no error but actually a good save) it's OK to say he was 'nowhere'. What people will and won't say changes depending on the player. McShane and Amos are the best current examples of overly popular and unpopular players.
ISPL "What people will and won't say changes depending on the player. McShane and Amos are the best current examples of overly popular and unpopular players." I find that comment unfair and, if I'm honest, a bit insulting. My comments were totally based on what I saw at the game - not any pre-conceived ideas about players. McShane was, in my view, the best defender at Cardiff. I'm not a big McShane fan - I still hold my breath whenever the ball comes near him in fact - but, credit where credit is due, his tackling, goal saving interceptions and even his distribution could not be faulted on the day.
