In all honesty, I don't know why everybody's concerned about United? I could care less about their result, win or lose. Our recent performances, heck, our entire season so far has shown that we're still well of the pace from United. United could very well lose today, but Arsenal will never consistently perform good enough to claw back an 8 points deficit, today is a great example of that, a very good opportunity to claw back points on rivals, but what do we do? We drop points. This was a perfect week to gain some ground, Chelsea playing Liverpool, City vs Spurs, and United losing now. Right now we need to be concerned about Everton and Spurs, not United. United are fighting for the title, Arsenal are fighting to come 4th.
Cause it's United. No matter where we are, it's always funny to see those ****s lose and they are currently losing.
If Wenger has learnt something new in England, it is the art of English understatement. "...defensively it wasn't an historical performance". on being adrift in the title race... "That is not an ideal situation".
Anyways, with how bad we're performing at the moment, I can take no pleasure from other clubs losing or whatever, we're just depressing.
That's what I was saying about finishing in the top 4. It's not settling for second best as we are not title contenders this season. Whilst we might all have aspirations of winning the league, it ain't gonna happen this season. So realistically, we have to try to make sure that we finish in the top 4. I still think we're good enough to do it, but we need to iron out the mistakes we keep making, which are allowing teams to much space, time and possession in MF - we are inviting pressure. We need to press from the front and have more bite in MF.
Those are understatements, but it's statements like these that MASSIVELY frustrate me: "I have to give credit to the players, in the last three games what they have done physically is amazing." How is anything about our last 3 games amazing? We were dreadful against United. We blew a 2 goal lead at Shalke and could've lost it if Shalke took their chances, and today we blew a 2 goal lead (again) and didn't win the game when we were handed a golden opportunity with a penalty. This attitude from Wenger summarises why we don't change, instead of giving credit to the players, he should say IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH, but he accepts it, and that's why nothing changes.
Just waiting for the 3rd goal now, ruing my laziness to put that 3-2 United bet on whilst it were still 2-0.
