haha, neither mate. I just really rate the lad, having seen him in the flesh a couple of times & on both occasions he really stood out (& one of them was at Goodison)

I wish we could afford him, as I think he'll go on to develop into a real star mate.

Gerrez -I know it's odd that Pacheco has just vanished off the radar, a few reds I know were going on about him a year or so back

Tom Ince got too big for his boots. Not in a million years is he good enough for Liverpool. He's only good enough for championship clubs or small clubs like Manchester United and Everton.

Pacheco plays like Ronaldo in the reserves, is overlooked for the first team, and when he does get a chance it's with the rest of the B squad in the Europa's next to Joe "Messi" Cole. He'd excell if he played with the squad that Sterling gets to play with, but Rodgers isn't ever going to try that.

As for Ince in the few reserve games he played he look alright... but not better than Suso, Morgan or Sterling. It was a case of his ambitions getting ahead of him, good to see he's doing well in the Championship. I don't think he's ready to step up quite yet though. I'm not too fussed he left, we've got others in that position that will be coming through.

  5. Rafa, Hodgson, Kenny and now Rodgers haven't given Pacheco that first team spot. Same goes for the managers of clubs he was sent out on loan to. Surely they aren't all missing his abilities...?

The lad has talent but sometimes, for whatever reason, a player is unable to step up to the Premier League. IMO, Pacheco needs to take a step back. He needs to drop a level or two and get regular first team football, whether that be on loan (where he actually plays) or in a permenant move. I have no doubt it is a confidence issue and if he dropped down he would work his way back up <ok>

Not quite fair. He was far too young for Rafa to play him, the perfectionist that he was. At the time he was banging them in but rightly judged by Rafa as not quite ready for the first squad. Hodgson also sent Insua on loan and brought in Konchesky and Poulsen. Hodgson was so bad that he couldn't afford to give youth a chance as his senior squad was underperforming anyway. Kenny forced his own signings and that's it really, even Sterling didn't break into the squad under KD.

In fact until Brendan came in I was very worried for our academy, they were so isolated from the first team that no players were trickling through. Cole played against Swansea for example. Downing gets on the pitch more often than he should. I'd say after a great showing vs Wolves U21 that Pacheco should now be getting those roles instead. What's Downing done to warrant those appearances? The youngsters that succeed are those that are mixed in with the first team. The goldfish effect.

It's an issue that's been problematic for us as it lead to departures for talented players such as Nemeth, San Jose, Ayala, Insua, etc. they got chances in the CC and Europa but its hard to learn there with a weak squad around you. Madrid wanted Suso earlier this year before he signed and without the chance to play for the first team (not a makeshift Europa squad) it's going to get tougher to keep these talented lads happy.

Sterling, Suso, Texeira, Morgan, Pacheco and more look a class above everyone in the reserves. Brendan's taking it step by step and I like that.

For me Ince didn't really prove that he was on Sterlings level for example. But Suso did. And he plays. Pacheco should too.
