Welcome to the Match Thread for Leeds United v Watford FC Kick-off: 3:00pm (GMT) Date: Saturday, 10 November 2012 Venue: Elland Road The EDL welcome the Hornets. South West Hertfordshire travel to Helmand Province. Leeds United, who rose to prominence in the 1980's following a series of succesful small-scale riots and mild town destruction during their away-day visits, face a Watford side who visit on the back of 2 defeats. The happy Italian, Gianfranco Zola, will be desperate to avoid a third succesive defeat, against a strong, two-footed, studs up, high-footed Leeds United. From the managers: Neil Warnock - "The lads have been down the gym every day since defeat to Burnley. We knew Burnley was going to be a test, with Dyche coming in. I mean, look at him?! He looks mental!! He looks like he shaves with an axe, and eats steak, with his hands, off the bone. But, credit to the lads, they have worked their socks off. We have been focusing mainly on punching this week, but have also incorporated a bit of elbows and knees. Watford are a small side, so we should have a field day." Gianfranco Zola - "It will be a tough game. I am pretty sure we can cope with the physicality of the Leeds players. We have ordered in steel leg pads to replace the shin pads, as we needed more protection for the whole leg. We have also just agreed a deal with Bauer, the popular ice hockey brand, who make brilliant helmets. That should help a bit. What I am worried about is the Leeds fans. They have a fantastic level of violence in them. It will be a fascinating game, and I look forward to seeing what they can throw at us. Literally." Neil Warnock is expected to offer a first team start to Ilias Kasidiaris following his impressive display on live TV, to replace the injured Tom Lees. Chuck Norris is expected to feature for Watford FC, in place of Daniel Pudil, to offer a bit of defensive support. I can see this being a very tough game for Watford. I predict the final result will be Leeds United 0-6 Watford FC. Watford heading home with 6 broken bones to Leeds' Zero. I also reckon 4 goals will be scored, with this aspect of the match ending 2-2.
Well this is a different match thread to normal and full of tongue in cheek humour. A Millwall fan has written this on the Leeds not606 match thread. "We played Watford tuesday and listened to bits of the game on Lions Player and our commentator said Watford were the best footballing side he had seen this season. and were the better side against us. So dont expect an easy passage."
This is a great thread. Well done and thanks BBW. This is bound to be a tough game, but im looking forward to it as i will be there.
Love the link, hadn't heard about that, he could be out of the game for ten years! We HAVE TO STUFF LEEDS, one of my disliked teams, esspecially with that joker incharge of them. Tough away from home, I'll predict a 1-2 win though. Cheers for the thread BBW.
BBW - Stunning work! Well done son, very well done indeed. Now if you excuse me while I find a doctor to pop my ribs back in!!! Edit: BTW, hope that utter coward of a Greek 'Politician' goes to jail for a very very long time. Maggot.
i love the match thread, thank you! This will be a tough game but i hope it's as fun as last year's trip to Elland Road, with a Watford win, 3-1..of course! Just as expensive though, which is a poop!
One thing I forgot to mention, I will update the main post when I get home with some fancy pictures. Not entirely sure of my ability to update the thread during the match, but that isn't really important.
Confused, thinking 'were the Leicester and Millwall results both a figment of my yellow-tinted imagination?', it took me a while to realise that you had simply missed out the word 'away'.
