Mainly aimed at Matt, but other opinions welcome..

Finally managed to fight my way through this film last night.....Very hard work

If you do watch it my advice is to stay sober...takes a bit of following. I concentrated so much on keeping track of what was happening and where they were, that, i missed some of the story line...

May try to watch again..in a few years...Up there with 12 Monkeys, T-salvation, clockwork orange etc...

    Mixed up film...enjoy it

Think that was tricky? Try Memento by the same director. Brilliant, a whole new use for tattoos......

I had to turn that film off after half an hour. It was doing my nut in. I will try and go back to it if I can find the time. ( Is it worth the effort? ) I didn't realise it was by the same bloke that did memento, I had to turn that one off as well.

I enjoy 'thought provoking' but I can't do weird.

Fight Club, The Usual Suspects, Se7en and Lucky number Slevin is about my limit. But oddly enough I can watch Die Hard over and over.....

    Yippeekaiyay Mother Funsters.

Also Groundhog Day and Trains planes and automobiles I can watch them on a loop... and Shawshank and Heat and The Last Boy Scout.

Loved Memento....... but did you know, it doesn't work, when it's played back chronologically? It ruins the illusion that it's deeper than it is <laugh>

A who's who of quality films gents.

I watched Inception a couple of months ago and do need to see it again - caught the gist but lost some plot and visuals doing so.

12 Monkeys is manic, Terminator Salvation is good although the end was a bit limp and Clockwork Orange is a poetic masterpiece.

SB - love Memento - a film that needs to be watched again after you know the ending. There is a hidden feature in one of the DVD versions where you can watch it "backwards" but it would ruin the effect I reckon.

9s - quality films mate. Usual Suspects is my favourite lounge on sofa when feeling sick. Love it and still can have arguments over who is Kaiser Sauze (spelling) - there's a convincing case for Pete Postlethwaite although it's ultimately meant to be ambiguous.

Heat is an all time favourite too - the slow bits are up there with the stunning set pieces (hope we have a few tomorrow).

Fight Club and Die Hards 1,3 (and a lesser extent 4) are all up there.

I know I've plugged it before but I'd definitely recommend Primer for a complete cerebral meltdown.

Made for several thousand dollars it is mainly dialogue based and starts off slowly (which at 70 mins leaves you thinking this might be OK to follow) and then bang - you're left going "what happened there?"

Because of the short running time, it's difficult not to watch it straight over there and then. Awesome film and I still haven't quite twigged it!

I have always wanted to watch Primer ( as well as Inception and Memento ) as I enjoy trying to decipher thought provoking films. I find though, that you have to be in a certain state of mind whilst doing so. I find this impossible at present as I am otherwise engaged in our fortunes of our beloved hoops. Maybe when things pick up, will I be able to relax and take in all and sundra.

I always like films that confuse me - you find yourself analysing it for a couple of days after and so seems to extend the enjoyment.

Sadly, if you want stress-free viewing, you might have to start planning for May!

Yeah..loving some of those films mentioned.
Not seen momento yet but gonna get out 2moro and have a watch

Am i the only person who cant stand Fight Club...?!

defo gotta watch the OP again.

Also just for a laugh i used to hate Pulp Fiction....the reason was that all of the 5 times i had tried to watch it, i had missed the opening 15 mins of the film,(The Cafe scenes) so all i saw was 3 diffrent films that had nothing too do with each other.
I slated this film for years until one day my mate put it on whilst we were waiting to go out somewhere or other. I saw the start of the film and thought he'd put the wrong film on or had another version.
Then i watched it all, and it all and it suddenly made sense !!
Great film..Up there with the Four Year Plan..
Off to watch SAFE now with Jason Statham...well not actually with him....!

Surely you've gotta rank 'oldboy' and 'man eats dog' in there somewhere Matt?

At the risk of being badged a pretentious twat (and who am I to argue) anything by David Lynch especially Blue Velvet (containing the immortal line "Heineken? F*ck that! Past Blue Ribbon!") and Werner Herzog (Aguirre, Wrath of God) will get you thinking - chiefly about how narrow the line between genius and madness is, how some people really do look at the world in a different and stunningly interesting way, and finally how the **** do they get funding for these extremely personal visions?

Ok so watched SAFE, nice idea for a film but let down by the actors.

Firstly, some great fight scenes if thats your thing; but

    Jason Statham......!!

Only Keanua Reeves could rival him as the most wooden actor ever and

As for being "typcast"..He'd give Ray Winstone a good run for his money!!

Worth a watch if your bored on a wet Saturday..as we are, with the cricket washed out...Its rained all f-ing day !!

Dont put too much effort into watching though..nice easy watch for a Sun with the misus.

Will say though, Statham is a direct replacement for Bruce Willis in both looks and acting prowess.....!Look for him in Die Hard 19.27034

Wonder if he'l get a go with ever young Demi....? I would !

Same thing happens with the Backwards episode of Red Dwarf. It's an option on the DVD to watch it the opposite way, but there's bits that don't work properly. It's worth watching it that way though, there's a few extra gags that they built into it when they filmed it (considering it was all VHS at the time it was probably just for their own amusement), the rant from their boss in the dressing room being a favourite of mine.

And somebody cast him as a nuclear physicist in a film.

Does anyone like David Lynch's films?

It's about time he made a new one.
