So...where do you think we'll finish next season?

    I want:

    1) Stability on and off the pitch.
    2) Consolidate, mid-table...push for play-offs a bonus.
    3) Keep our key players together and build a squad good enough to challenge the top 2 the season after next.
    4) Finally a year we will actually want a good cup run...will be sods law we go out first round in League and FA Cup!

    What about you? <ok>

    WE ARE GOING UP :D

I think if we do the double promotion (like Norwich might) we'd probably be absolutely destroyed in the premiership. It would be too soon, we wouldn't be ready.
I'm hoping for a 9th/10th comfortable mid table finish next season, build a premiership worthy team, then push for it the season after that.
I honestly think that would be the best way to go about it. I'd be happy with that.

A half decent cup run would be good

It should be a pretty nice feeling having less expectations on our finishing position next season. I think as long as we're not flirting with relegation we will be pretty satisfied and able to enjoy an exciting year of football. For the record, I reckon we'll finish in the top half.

Consolidation is the key - strengthening the squad with a couple of good signings and not letting anyone go. I hope we don't go overboard and sign dozens of players in the transfer window just because we can.

I wouldn't change our tactics. Continue to come out and play our own style, and don't be scared to attack.

Agree. Consolidate in the Championship and build a team for promotion the next year. I'd accept promotion if it came, but the Prem is a big jump. Baby steps.

Everyone starts in the same boat. Everyone starts in the same place etc...

    Why not have a go.

I think we have excellent team spirit and with a bit of strengthening at the back we could have a real go this year.

However I'm just going to enjoy the moment!! <ok>

Whos to say if we did storm the Championship that we wouldnt hold our own in the Prem, all we need to do if be better than 3 other teams, are we not the biggest club on the south coast ?, are we bigger than some London clubs ? if we dont think big then we shall never be big.

I think (hope) Cortese will think like this too.

We need a quality CB to play next to Fonte. Jaidi is too old now, and Martin isn't properly ready yet.

Give us a really top quality holding midfield player and then we can go for it.

I don't see the concern that we'll get thumped if we go into the premier league. Surely it shows we're capable of doing the business in the home league of football if we are up there at the end of next season.

My personal aim is mid-table stability. Anything higher will be a bonus.

I think it would be silly to not have a go for promotion, however, we shouldn't be overly confident as stability is the key, hopefully we won't lose chambers, lallana or lambert. I think we need to look into maybe a new striker and good Championship/premiership style defender. I don't mind where we end up aslong as we don't come back down! Can't wait for saturday anyhow!

No reason, having spent a few quid, we can't push for the play-offs. Mid-table consolidation is all very well, but the three teams that went up last season (Leeds, Norwich and Millwall) have all been in the play-off picture this season, so that's what we should aim for next.

In the meantime, let's just enjoy the ride!!!

Can't see us losing Lambert or Lallana now we're in Championship. Chamberlain is more up in the air, bt we've done well without him haven't we. In fact, Adkins has showed that with the right depth of team, training and attitude we can cope with anyone going missing. We're not a one man team anymore. Sad thing is that with any team, promotion often means you shed players who helped get you there.
