When our ex-players are booed they often score, I'm already nervous about the pairing of these two, I'm not sure about Nolan being booed, I would imagine Carroll definitely will be, I'm hoping Nolan's comments earlier in the week are just pre match banter, not bitterness.

To be honest Carroll and Nolan will be major threats this weekend. Nolan is clever, and we'll need to make sure we give him no room in the box. We need to restrict him to having to run into space behind etc which is not the strongest part of his game. Carroll will be the main problem. Its not so much that he is a goal threat (although he is and particularly aerially from crosses), its the way he leads the line. We have to make sure that while we don't want too many getting drawn to him, we need whoever is playing Cheiks role is picking up the 2nd ball and not leaving scraps for Nolan etc.

I think we have a good chance of 3 points if we start quickly and get our noses in front. Where Sams teams do well is if you let them get their noses in front and they are very good at frustrating you. We need to be switched on and get ourselves on the front foot. Cabaye needs to take the game by the scruff, not ease his way in after 30mins or so.

 

Totally agree WP, Nolan's a danger in the box, he also likes to try and get in the way of the keepers when a corners being taken, hope Timmy gives him a dig if he starts that caper with him.

 

beware of the man wronged by another for he will wrong another. in all honesty, i can see andy getting a hatrick by screwing taylor. fact is andy is a better striker then steven taylor is defender. Alot younger 2.
