Seems middlesborough have let Matthew Bates go? Weren't we after him in the summer before his injury? A decent centre half and a free agent. Surely with a look?
Is he Ted Bates' grandson? Sorry, I've lost the link. Middlesboro' have let a player go (because he is either crap or injured?) and we think he'd be better than what we have. OK, I'll go with this. Why?
He'd be nothing more than a short term solution until January. He will get injured and then he will be a complete waste of money. Only contract I would give him is pay as you play.
He is an excellent centre halve and played in one of the best defence partnerships in the championships until be got crocked. Middlesborough wanted him to sign but he wanted to much money/longer contract for someone with a history of injury. I think he might already have a club lined up! I think we should be all over this! He is better than the crap back there at the moment!
He is not better then we have and is injury prone more then Richardson, that's saying something. People need to stop looking at free transfers and get this is the team we have until Jan. The defence maybe ****ing ****, but it's our ****ing **** defence embrace it.
I think that was Rhys Williams, another Middlesborough centre back. I'd rather we went for someone with Premiership experience.
Was very promising in his slightly younger days, has had 5 long term knee injuries (think he has done his ACL at least once in both knees). So I don't think he would be the solution to any of our problems.
Have a look at his defending in the match at SMS last season. No way is he any better than what we have already.
I've no axe to grind, but that seems liek a very unfair example to make, ABDS. Boro were mesmerised by our attacking flair last season. In the the end they simply gave up. Actually, it's not unfair at all.
When you say we were after Matthew Bates in the summer, do you mean SFC or the fans? We certainly speculated a lot, but was there real evidence for it?
When he was younger he was commonly referred to as Master Bates. Oh come on, it's early. OK, I'm out of here.
