Lloris; Walker, Vertonghen, Dawson (c), Naughton; Lennon, Huddlestone, Carroll, Bale; Adebayor, Defoe Cudicini, Gallas, Mason, Dempsey, Sigurdsson, Falque, Livermore 442!
I guess this is the official match thread Our team to play NK Maribor is: Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Dawson (c), Naughton, Lennon, Huddlestone, Carroll, Bale, Adebayor and Defoe And our subs tonight: Cudicini, Gallas, Mason, Dempsey, Sigurdsson, Falque and Livermore I do believe that this is a 442 formation-anyone like to confirm this
Anyone else see a little subplot from a Huddlestone and carroll pairing - as Carroll is likely going to usurp Hudds' place in the squad by next season?
Well it's taken a while, a costly while for AVB to get the message that it's a good idea to play both Ade and JD, I won't say better late than never because it hasn't been. AVB's stubborness and stupidity on this matter has probably cost us points and certainly lost him some respect and support from the fans. Decent team overall, should win.
That's really attack-minded. No real holding player, two creative midfielders, two out-and-out wingers and two proper strikers, plus a pretty attacking pair of full-backs. Dawson picked as captain? I wonder if he's starting to edge back into Villas-Boas' plans?
Well said, hopefully the rign of nonsense we've had to suffer under AVB is coming to an end. The big test will be Sunday though
Benny just tweeted apparently,he's on his way to WHL,hoping for a win tonite,it will give them confidence for saturday, then he end's it COYS
Another 4 attacking players on the bench too. Not so sure about starting both strikers as it's not something we're going to do on Sunday away at the Premier League champions.
Over the moon with the line up. Finally! It's much needed with the injuries and the most sensible formation. Really happy Carroll is starting too. Hopefully falque will get 45 mins as well. COYS!!
