As I don't have much money, and I don't have many free weekends (girlfriend lives in a different City), and I live in Liverpool, getting to games is a pretty rare thing. BUT I've scored Tickets to Everton Away (as it's close to home!) and now for West Brom at the Emirates. Pretty psyched. Do you guys get to go much? Please don't let this descend into a "you're not a real fan if you don't go" type slanging match. There's millions of reasons people can't get to games.
I used to go to highbury a lot but since i started working full time i only get to 3 or 4 sunday games a season. I work every Saturday and the travel/ticket/drinking etc costs me best part of £100
This is my second season as a season ticket holder, so i go to all home games except when i'm out of the country, :-D, i've also been going to more away games now, I was thinking of going to the Everton game, but there are no trains coming back till next morning.
I'm very lucky as i'm a member of a supporters club.We are able to apply for tickets 9 weeks before a game rather than 2 calendar months. We can always get tickets for away games even for the big games.I think it would be safe to say it's easier getting tickets for games if you live away from London.Even though i'm a silver member many of our supporters club members are not Arsenal members but they are still able to get tickets for any game.
Used to go to Highbury a lot when I lived in the UK but since I moved to other countries I haven't even been inside the Emirates
I have been three times - twice Highbury and once Emirates - because I've been poorly paid my whole working life and live far away.
Went to nearly every home game between 1986 and 1992 and visited most of the big grounds away, Old Trafford, Anfield, St James Park, Villa Park, The City ground, Maine Rd as well as some proper **** holes like The Den, Kenilworth Rd, White Hart Lane These days I live over three hundred miles from Arsenal, so I only get to go now and again. Match days back in my Junior Gunners days used to cost me just over £5 for the whole day. That was a travelcard, burger and chips from the Golden fish bar, A programme, ten Marlboros and enough for a pint after the game. It's a different story today, but last season I was lucky enough to see our 5-2 demolition of Spurs - and it was worth every penny
That was a cracking day out fella I'll never forget the sight of watching the Spuds queuing up to get out of the ground when we scored our fourth. Then when they were heading for the exits, we scored again Would be good to meet up again for another game this season. I'm brassic at the moment, but maybe a game in the new year ? I'll have to have a word with my ticket tout and see how the land lies
