Victor Wanyama - "... to beat one of the best teams in the world, it's not easy ..." :emoticon-0100-smile He was fantastic tonight as was Fraser Forster and of course the rest of the team were excellent but just in case it escaped anyone's notice I thought Adam Matthews was outstanding - the way he handled Lionel Messi was as good as I've seen anyone do it ... and that ain't easy ...

    Matthews was excellent.

Davie Provan said after 50 minutes that we were narrow and that was a deliberate ploy.......it only took him 140 minutes to recognise that.

still cant understand the refs decision to "play on" when Watt was brought down from behind while running through on goal ; I thought that was a shocker of a decision.

Yeah, Song, I agree but see how it could be a bit more open to interpretation, the one with Watt was absolutely clear cut.

That was maybe our most high profile game of the season and big Victor was immense. I'd be surprised if we can keep hold of him until the end of season - and I'm happy that Neil Lennon's 25m price anchorage may now actually encourage a stupid (15m-ish) bid.

i think we can keep him until the end of the year. if barca beat spartak we are guaranteed euro football after christmas . i think this should be enough to convince him to stay. he was outstanding. forster put another couple of mill on his price tag as well, surely he will be in every england squad from here on

so when we beat spartak it was because they are the worst team in the comp and were down to 10 men. when we were defeated narrowly in the nou camp it was because we were lucky and played total anti football. looking forward to the insight after tonight. anti football maybe?, barca no longer the team they were?

I think I quite like him.

He's front and centre in every Celtic celebration this year.

I love him. Much better than John Terry.

Leo Messi, who scored Barça’s only goal against Celtic on Wednesday, said: “We’re still in first place in the group, we’re not worried.” The Argentine also noted that “I think we did a good job, we created chances but the ball didn’t go in.” Messi concluded his post-match interview by analysing Celtic’s approach to the match: “The same thing happened at the Camp Nou. They played defensively and they waited to make fast counterattacks. They are very comfortable on corners and set pieces, and that’s how they scored their two goals.”

Statements made by FC Barcelona players after the match:

    Cesc Fàbregas:

“There is no such thing as injustice or justice in football. You have to win and that’s it. We lacked depth, we had our chances and they scored on the chances they had.”

“We have to continue with our style of play, we’re very pleased with the season that we’re having.”

“We have two games left and we’ll try to win them.”

    Jordi Alba

“If we hadn’t had the chances we created I wouldn’t be leaving with the feeling I have, but it’s time to focus on our next match.”

“We’re coming up against teams that close themselves off at the back and we’re finding it difficult to get into the opposing team’s area, but we’re not worried about it.”

“The match allowed for the right and left backs to push forward. Each day I’m feeling better and more comfortable when I go forward.”

“They created chances on set pieces because they know we’re not a very tall team, but we also created a lot of chances but their keeper was brilliant.”

    Marc Bartra

“We didn’t score from the chances we created, they were very effective; that’s what was in their favour.”

“We have to move on and keep on working. We have to be optimistic knowing that we’re group leaders.”

Tito Vilanova: "I don't like to lose, but if we have to lose, let it be this way."
