I feel like saying we miss Anthony Stokes, Daryl Murphy and David Healy as well .

"mate" of mine calls Stoke, "Sunderland Rejects" ~ we have many players from the black cats nd it would be a shame if they left. GUTTED i'd be in fact. Doubt all them will go, Collins maybe, but hey no big loss there

Sergeant. They really are that bad. It is underlined by the job that Tony Pulis has done with our so called "rejects."

A lot (if not all) of these lads are better than the players who we have signed and were supposed to be improvements. It's a peculiar sense of improvement which has a team collect 4 points out of a possible 33.

Injuries haven't helped though? How's Gyan getting on? From afar it has seemed to be that Welbeck has made more of an impact than Gyan? Would that be right?

Every Sunderland game I've seen Welbeck looked really good. It's just a shame having him has probably helped United more than you guys.

The site bald-in-guelph cited is mine and we got a great Stoke City response to my request for a player-by-player assessment of our alleged "rejects" - see comments at http://salutsunderland.com/2011/05/birflatt-boy-can-we-have-stoke-citys-squad-back-again/ -

I'd have back Tommy, Delap for the throws we certainly never saw, Whitehead for effort and drive and Jones for what he can do when he is up for it. Even Higginbotham would be better, for honest endeavour, than what we seem to muster at present.

Welbeck was hopeless at first, probably because Bruce played him out of position, then brilliant, then injured, and now - apart from a flash of brilliance on his return at Arsenal - relatively anonymous and, of course, injured again. Gyan falls down a lot, almost as if he wants Barca or Arsenal to buy him, but scored a few magical goals before his injury. He might even be worth half of what we paid!

One last thing: as stated at my site, good luck for Wembley. I'd be chuffed to see you win it.

I second Kingshirker's comments about the FA Cup Final. I really hope that you lads win it. It would be a brilliant result not just for Stoke City but for football generally.

Best of luck to the Potters at Wembley. Have a great day and just make sure you come back with the trophy.

I think a lot of neutrals will be rooting for the Potters.

Jones - Too hit and miss, frustrating player a lot of the time but I still liked him. He was unplayable on his day!
Whitehead - ......No matter how low we go...never...ever...would I wish for him back in our side...
Collins - I'd have back no problem. Mr Consistent as CB or LB. Player of the season a couple of years ago.
Delap - He broke his leg and we never saw his long throw so he was pretty ineffectual.
Sorensen - Oh Tommy, Tommy!! Legend of the Quinn/Phillips era.
Higginbottom - Scored v Boro and more importantly the Mags. He wasn't the worst defender I've seen. Nope that honour was awarded to his CB partner Paul McShane.....oh dear

But they're all playing for you as a team which is what we are sadly lacking :(
