I said the other night that I was athiest. I'm not really, I just don't know. The human race is to blame for all the worlds ills though, that I am sure of. Mans blind indifference to one another has made the Earth what it has become. Is there something better? I certainly like to think so but I don't know what. Good thread MNG & yes indeed, the transformation a caterpiller makes is one of natures wonders,
Very similar thoughts to me Billy. I just don't know. I also in some respects believe the human to be the most arrogant and stupid of all the animals, an animal that finds out trees omit oxygen then decides to chop them down and destroy its own life force and environment. I have a friend who totally believes he is going to heaven but just because he is a born again christian and only those are going, apparently. Seems a bit unfair of a 'loving god'. I would love to think there is something better just so that i could meet my dog again. Events in your life have obviously given you cause for deep philosophical thought Billy and I am interested in what has occurred in your life since the sad loss of Janie (you said strange things had happened). Would you care to enlighten me or would you prefer not to say?
No problem. I aint seen owt but I can hear breathing & indeed, feel it on my face when I am unhappy or sad & trying to sleep. At these times I can smell her perfume too. When I'm ok or content, it doesn't happen. Strange I know but it's true.
Humans are the most greedy & ill willing, lazy & selfish animals on the face of the Earth NMG. Not all of course. And as for religion, well that's what most wars kick off over. That & sheer greed. I'm warming to you lad, rep.
Yes I agree and I used to my views being unpopular but here is another. I actually regard the human as vermin (planet destroyer, a virus in shoes). We are basically the destructors destroying all things good on the planet in pursuit of money (in actuality pieces of paper). However, there are times when I think there must be something else , if you walking through the woods at one with nature but then you come back out to the false man made world and the gloom of shopping centres hits you again. I have no faith in organised religions as I see mostly fat vicars and priests who look like they practice gluttony and have not actually paid any attention to the text that preaches humility. Rep is irrelevant to me but it is nice that you are warming to me as everyone else on here just thinks i'm nuts.
You do come out with some good threads which I don't often agree with, but I do respect...My one gripe with you mate, is that you don't distinguish Geordies from Mags, which is an unfair insult to the thousands of Geordies who support SAFC...
Haway then Disc. The lad questioned it, not made a statement. He just asked for others opinions, nowt wrong with that mind.
To be fair, if I was a caterpillar and I bumped into another caterpillar who said 'we will be flying about like that in a few months' firstly I'd probably think "****ing hell a talking caterpillar".
Strictly speaking, caterpillars do not die, they pupate. They undergo a chrysalis and emerge in the full insect form. I suppose the caterpillars looking at the butterfly are no more fanciful than Newcastle supporters who think they might win something someday, except of course the caterpillars have a chance of becoming a butterfly.
No one's ganging up on him. He's being slated by several people for saying premature, destructive, negative ****.
